Austin Emerson’s Mayflower Eagles will not have a shortage of experience returning for the 2021 season. Last season was not an easy one for the Eagles. Mayflower finished the season with a 2-8 record and with a desire to improve this season. We are going to look at some key players on both sides of the ball and give a prediction on the upcoming season.
The Mayflower offense is run out of the wing T. The Eagles have several players that are looking to be the signal caller this season. Noah Gailey, Jacob Stevens, Frankie Fennell, and Jayden Duncan are all going to be in the mix to run the offense. Gailey saw plenty of playing time as the signal caller last season starting six games for the Eagles. Fennell was solid in his work at the junior high level as the quarterback. The Eagles have plenty of quality options at the quarterback spot.
Meanwhile, the running backs Mayflower has are guys that can be overpowering when carrying the football. Last season, Jamell Pitts churned out the yards on the ground, rushing for 554 yards and five touchdowns. Jaden Robinson is another running back for the Eagles that can carry the football and create plays. Both are the type of players that are tough to bring down on initial contact. Mayflower is going to depend on the rushing attack to pace the offense.
However, Mayflower has some guys at the wide receiver spot that can stretch the field. Jamar Anderson is a player that can stretch the field and make difficult plays look routine. Meanwhile, [player_tooltip player_id="174930" first="Deondre" last="Stewart"] is a player that creates separation with his speed and consistent route running. Another player to keep an eye on is [player_tooltip player_id="174931" first="Hayden" last="Hill"]. Hill is a solid blocker from a run and pass perspective and is a player that can make plays in the passing game.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Eagles have some playmakers returning in the secondary. [player_tooltip player_id="174937" first="Khalil" last="Bryant"] has experience in the secondary and does a good job of getting physical with opposing wide receivers. Defensive back [player_tooltip player_id="174939" first="Pharoah" last="Ryles"] will be a player to watch in the secondary. Ryles does an impressive job of moving up to stop the run,
<strong>2021 Prediction:</strong>
