Oregon Twitter Spotlights of The Week

This week's spotlight features a big defensive sleeper from Tillamook and a promising 2024 prospect from Central Catholic. Take a look at the offensive and defensive twitter players of the week: &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong>Defensive Spotlight<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-155914" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/06/PrzIcon3-294x300.png" alt="" width="294" height="300" /></strong></span> <strong>Aiden Johnson</strong>, <em>DL, 6'2" 235lbs, Tillamook '22</em> <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2FNJUj">*Junior Film</a> Johnson is one of the biggest defensive sleepers in the state, as he holds numerous intangibles to translate to the next level. He sizes up with an strong frame and build at 6'2" 235lbs and is a standout on both the offensive and defensive line for Tillamook. He flashes violent hands as a DE and does a great job creating separation and room to keep his distance. He is quick off the edges with solid bend and flexibility and is developing into an impressive pass rusher. He sheds blocks well and is very disruptive at the LOS. He is often double teamed, and has even been triple teamed at some points but still puts himself in position to help blow up the play. He is strong at the POA with a nice striking ability when he gets squared up and is explosive through the tackle. Johnson was awarded "1st Team All-League DL &amp; OL" as well as "2nd Team All-State". He holds big potential and is still looking for that first offer to come in. Definitely a 2022 defensive lineman to get on your radar. &nbsp; <span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong><img class="size-medium wp-image-90217 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2020/12/Brian-Waugh-Monarch-300x224.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="224" />Offensive Spotlight</strong></span> <strong>Matix Carpenter</strong>, <em>OL, 6'1" 235lbs, Central Catholic '24</em> <a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2FY9iq">*Freshman Film</a> Carpenter flashed some solid potential throughout the spring season as he saw significant action being a varsity starter as a freshman. He is versatile along the OL and flashes good quickness off the snap. He is still very raw in terms of talent, but started to improve his technique throughout the year. He's shown the ability to gain leverage on opponents and redirect them to open up alleys for ball carriers. He possesses good power and functional strength for a 2024 kid with a good initial strike. He did a great job working down to the second level when he needed to, showing good mobility and football IQ. Carpenter has also flashed quick and violent hands with a fairly good anchor, and holds numerous tools to build off of as he continues to develop. He is a scrappy kid for Central Catholic and looks like a promising upcoming talent, and will be a player to keep your eye on throughout the next 3 years. &nbsp;
