Mason Mennell Mason Mennell 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Stow-Munroe Falls | 2022 OH – Stow Munroe Falls – OT – 6’4″ 300 lbs
Mennell is a true Tackle and teams see that. He’s got great size and bends extremely well. He’s taking his time with his decision because it looks like he may be leaving home for college. Mason’s biggest offer is from Arizona State. The Sun-Devils are an up-and-coming program with NFL-fused coaches. If the NFL is on Mennell’s mind then he may be packing up and moving across the country. He does have local offers from schools like Akron, Toledo, and Youngstown State if he chooses to stay close.
Ira Sampson Ira Sampson 5'10" | 210 lbs | LB Willoughby South | 2022 State OH – South – RB – 5’10″ 205 lbs
Sampson is a lot of fun because he’s built like a workhorse RB. He’s got great size, speed, and agility. The 3-star recruit has narrowed down his offers to his top 5. It appears he’s deciding on whether to stay close or move far away. His listed top 5 are currently Iowa State, Cincinnati, Miami (OH), Toledo, and Akron. Whatever Sampson decides to do he has great potential and schools see that.
Terence Thomas Terence Thomas 5'10" | 185 lbs | WR Youngstown Boardman | 2022 State OH – Boardman – WR – 5’11″ 185 lbs
Thomas is another highly recruited WR and for good reason. He has a great frame with his age. He plays physically strong at the point of attack. Recently it was reported that he hard committed to Purdue. Purdue over the past few years has shaped up some good WR prospects including Rondale Moore and David Bell. That recruitment though hasn’t stopped SEC and ACC teams from trying to get in the way. Kentucky and Boston College have recently entered the picture and are trying to pull Thomas away.
Xavier Preston Xavier Preston 6'1" | 185 lbs | RB Stow-Munroe Falls | 2022 State OH – Stow Munroe-Falls – ATH – 6’1″ 177 lbs
Preston is interesting because of his versatility. Some schools have him pegged as an RB and some schools have him pegged as a CB. His offers come from different schools and different positions. While he does have offers from Akron, Toledo, and Youngstown State as an RB, the Michigan State Spartans have come knocking on his door and offered him as a CB. It’ll be interesting to see what direction he goes because he’s not only choosing a school, but he’s choosing a position.
Nathanael Sulka – Chardon – LB – 6’4″ 202 lbs
Sulka is a big man. He’s lean and mean. He’s got great length and can always bend around would-be blockers with ease. The 3-star LB has offers from all of the local schools but also an offer from Iowa State. According to some websites that Iowa State offer is at DE. I’ve been unable to verify that but it is interesting because he could play both. He needs to bulk up either way, but if he gets into a big-time program and develops his body whatever position he’s meant to play may come more naturally.
