Prep Redzone looks at a few players that we think you should monitor in the Arundel County area this upcoming season.
ANNAPOLIS
[player_tooltip player_id="175178" first="Ke’Mari" last="Taylor"]/5-11/185/RB/2022
Taylor is technically a slot back. He can both run the football and line up on the inside as a slot receiver. Taylor’s team finds creative ways to get him the football.
ARUNDEL
[player_tooltip player_id="175179" first="Chris" last="Downs"]/5-11/WR/2022
[player_tooltip player_id="175180" first="Raymond" last="Chapman"]/5-9/195/LB/2023
BROADNECK
[player_tooltip player_id="175172" first="Josh" last="Ehrlich"]/6-0/180/QB/2022
Ehrlich passed for 652 yards, 11 touchdowns, four interceptions, and ran for 250 yards and three touchdowns in four games last season. The speed with which he sets up in the pocket with is impressive. His highlights give you a great idea of how good he is at escaping pressure. Ehrlich has some wheels, so he doesn’t mind escaping the pocket and running for yardage if he has to. I will say that it looks like he is a little frantic in the pocket and needs to slow it down just a little. Again, that could be due to the face he’s facing a lot of pressure from the opponent’s defensive line in some of his highlights. He holds an offer from Robert Morris.
[player_tooltip player_id="175181" first="Kyle" last="Pierce"]/5-10/185/WR/2022
Pierce is a slot receiver who knows how to get himself open against zone coverage.
J’Marion Simms/6-1/320/OL/2022
Davion White/6-0/200/RB/2022
Dominik Downs/6-3/225/LB/2022
[player_tooltip player_id="175182" first="Jayden" last="Joyce"]/6-5/280/OL/2022
CHESAPEAKE
[player_tooltip player_id="90670" first="Tyler" last="Weber"]/6-2/180/QB/2023
Based on his 2019 film, Weber had a lot of room for improvement. We will revisit his current ranking as the No. 6 quarterback once we get new highlights.
Rushaun Tongue/6-1/160/CB/2023
Tongue has appealing height as a cornerback. He plays in a zone defense and shows good range. Tongue also plays wide receiver for his team.
Kyle Lane/5-11/165/FS/2022
GLEN BURNIE
[player_tooltip player_id="90590" first="Ryan" last="Witt"]/6-4/240/QB/2022
Evaluation by Mike Rittleman:

This quarterback has the ability to keep his feet alive and move feet in rapid succession and is confident in his mechanics to be able to drop back whether its 3, 5 or 7 step drop. He is poised while in the pocket and demonstrates great performance while under pressure and good pocket awareness to go through his progressions.

Keshawn Johnson/5-8/224/DE/2022
Chauncey Heyward/5-9/180/CB/2022
MEADE
Roshawn Spears/5-11/179/LB/2023
Spears is an undersized middle linebacker who uses his quickness to his advantage to get past would-be blockers to make tackles.
Darrell Walter/5-9/210/LB/2022
He plays both running back and linebacker. He’s good for short-yardage plays but has a higher upside as a middle linebacker.
Kyree Scott/6-1/190/2022
Jayden Womble/5-7/157/2022
NORTH COUNTY
Nick Chang/5-11/185/LB/2023
Noah Webster/6-1/196/LB/2022
NORTHEAST
Nathan Wilburn/6-2/155/QB/2022
SEVERNA PARK
Kevin Bredeck/5-11/160/CB/2022
SOUTH RIVER
Caleb Herb/6-3/255/OL/2022
