Prep Redzone looks at several fresh names to the PRZ Maryland website. We’ve ranked several tight ends, put some on the waiting list, and now we are introducing new players to the group. We will include these tight ends once we update the rankings on Sep. 1.

Jester is getting a lot of interest to play football at the college level from mostly FCS schools right now. He earned an offer from Robert Morris on May 12. Penn and Towson are a couple of other schools that have shown interest in Jester. I watched some of his camp clips from a recent showcase and he showed he has great footwork. Jester looked smooth while navigating through several cones and ladder drills. He also displayed better-than-average vertical speed and agility.
Jester is a perfect example of an athlete who can benefit from going to college camps. The things that I mentioned above are skills he wasn’t able to show fully on his highlight video. Ah yes, his highlights. He is an effective blocker in both the passing and running game. Jester isn’t asked to run the most-precise routes, but he can work his way to get open. I can see him fitting in a system that uses an H-back in its offense too.

If you’re looking for a flex tight end with incredible speed off the snap then look no further than [player_tooltip player_id="90614" first="Jeremiah" last="Franklin"]. The Boston College commit just posted a 4.68 40 yard dash this past Spring which supplants his status as an incredibly well-rounded receiver. The Walkersville Lions’ star is also a dominant force on the offensive line. [player_tooltip player_id="90614" first="Jeremiah" last="Franklin"] will make an immediate impact at Boston College next year, but first he’s in line to finish his high school tenure in sublime fashion with Walkersville this Fall. Get your popcorn ready because this ACC bound phenom is going to put on a show! - Parker Smith (PRZ Maryland).

Josh Jennings is the most quintessential tight end in this top five. Even with inconsistent quarterbacking this past Spring, Jennings showed his remarkable catch and run capabilities. When you watch Josh he always seems to find the open space down field. His route running is truly superb and it’s because of his high football IQ and incredible instincts for the game. His size also makes him incredibly useful for run blocking which will be an integral part of the Falcons’ game plan this upcoming season. The WCAC should be on notice that Josh Jennings and Good Counsel are coming into the Fall season more confident and poised than ever, especially after their Spring season upset victory over the #1 ranked St. Frances Academy Panthers. - Parker Smith (PRZ Maryland)

[player_tooltip player_id="90616" first="Travis" last="Walls"]/6-2/200/Harford Tech
Walls is a two-sport athlete that plays football and basketball. I only had his 2019 highlights to go off of and it looks like he’s a blocking tight end. The majority of his highlights from 2019 show him on the defensive side of the ball at the linebacker position. We will wait until fall preseason practice is over to determine where he ultimately gets ranked during the next update.
