As this already put them in a bad position for the rest of their season, this also largely contributed to their final overall record of 3-5. Out of these 5 losses, 4 of them came within their region, including their season ending loss to M.L. King High School. Next season, as the Bulldogs will likely be expecting better results, we fully expect them to be back in the swing of things, and poised for success against anyone who comes their way. Below, we have included a few of their top returners who we also feel would be a great fit.
Styland Scott- WR
Styland Scott does a good job of being a reliable target for the Bulldog’s offense, as he is very consistent in making receptions for his team. Not only is Scott very fast, but he has some sudden quickness to his route running as well. When running routes, he does an okay job of transitioning out of his breaks, and cuts, and we like the way he uses his feet to help him gain separation. When the ball is in the air, Scott does a decent job of tracking it, and catching it with his hands. This can be seen in situations where he has to high point the football, as well as catch in traffic. As the season approaches, expect him to be a big time player for his team.
Damarion Davis- LB
Davis does a good job of playing with power, and leverage. Oftentimes, this allows him to make big, physical hits, and it also helps him to make steps on initial contact. He plays with decent footwork, and this can be seen in his drop steps, and how he reacts to the run. Davis is skilled with the ability to dip and rip, and even though he is not overly fast, his high motor pushes him to the ball carrier at all times. With this, the angles he takes helps to make up for his lack of speed, and still helps him produce in pursuit. Next season, we want to see him improve in his bend, and initial burst. In doing so, he will see a jump in production.
Christopher Whitaker Jr- DB
When evaluating the film on Whitaker, one of the first things that one may notice is his ability to play with good range. In doing so, he does a good job of using his length, and build to his advantage, making stops, and covering players well in zone coverage. When the ball is in the air, Whitaker also shows off his ability to track the ball, as he is able to cause turnovers, as well as pass break ups. When maneuvering around the field, he also moves fluidly, playing with decent footwork, and with the ability to turn and run. We also like the way that he uses his hands and arms to help him rip off of blocks, allowing him to make big stops and play with physicality.
Khamari Shannon- OL
Entering into next season, we fully expect Shannon to be a reliable offensive force for the Bulldogs. Not only does he have the length, weight, and frame that you want out of a Tackle, but he has the power off of the ball, as well as the reach that you would want to see. This helps him to position himself well on blocks, and to be able to stand firm against pass rushers. Shannon also does a good job of finishing blocks, as well as using his feet to put him in a good place to stop defender’s efforts of stopping the ball carrier. Shannon also finishes blocks very well, and he plays with good leverage, which will likely be a strength of his this upcoming season.
