Film Eval: “Prospect Index” Submissions Part 5

This offseason has been a great time for us to evaluate tons of players across Mississippi. Using the prospect index on our site, many players have made direct contact with us and submitted all their information we need to get the best eval done possible! Check out some of the guys who have recently entered their names in our system! [player_tooltip player_id="161267" first="Jalen" last="Washington"] | 2024 RB A do-it-all back from Houston High, Washington rushed for 860 yards and 12 touchdowns, while also having 340 yards and 2 touchdowns receiving. At 5’8" 190, Washington was well built for a freshman playing varsity ball and looks to have continued growing in the offseason. As a runner, Washington has good contact balance and bounces of tackles with ease. He has great quickness in his feet and can hit the hole fast. In the open field, Washington can make defenders miss or just run right by them. As a receiver out of the backfield, he has smooth hands and runs crisp routes to burn backers and safeties deep. Really intriguing prospect. Should be a big time riser in the rankings soon. [player_tooltip player_id="158985" first="Josh" last="Sykes"] | 2022 WR A 6’3" wide out from Park Place Christian, Sykes is an outside receiver capable of playing both the X and Z roles in an offense. He is a long and tall receiver, but can move in space well and is dangerous after the catch. Sykes positions himself well and understands where the open space in defenses is. With his natural hands, he is able to catch away from his body well and grab contested balls out of the air. In addition to his receiving abilities, Sykes also plays defensive back for Park Place Christian and has a ton of production against the pass. He reads quarterbacks’ eyes well and breaks on the ball, usually resulting in a big play. Excited to watch this guy play his senior year out. [player_tooltip player_id="139611" first="Skylar" last="Husband"] | 2024 DB A young defensive back from Richton, Husband played a ton of varsity time last year as a freshman. Husband stands at 6’0" 150 and has great length in his arms. Although playing corner as a freshman is quite the task, Husband did well with his time on the field. He showed good ability to break on the ball, and good speed on recovery whenever he false stepped. Husband uses his length well to jar the ball loose from receivers, and shows good willingness to tackle in the open field. With his size and age, look for him to develop into a big time playmaker as a sophomore with more experience under his belt. [player_tooltip player_id="149243" first="Lansus" last="Cole"] | 2022 DL A highly regarded rising senior lineman from Meridian, [player_tooltip player_id="149243" first="Lansus" last="Cole"] has had a great offseason adding offers from Hinds, Coahoma, and Mississippi Gulf Coast among others. Cole stands at 6’3" 355 and is easily one of the largest humans on the field at any time. He has good burst off the line of scrimmage with a quick first step. Against the run, Cole can take on and split double teams and drive offensive lineman back into the backfield. He can quickly disengage and wrap up the back for a nice tackle for loss. Against the pass, Cole has a good bull rush move that helps him get to the quarterback. Well rounded defensive lineman who should have a big senior campaign and continue adding offers.
