They fell short to Evansville Memorial in the championship last year. We are looking at them again this year to see if they can get over the hump in 2021.
They are returning their strong core in 2021. They are returning 17 starters and the entire coaching staff. They should, if healthy, win their conference pretty easily. There are some schools in the area like Fremont, Angola, DeKalb, and so on that are very young. Fremont is bringing in yet another new Head Coach in 2021. East Noble should have a clear path straight to the Sectional Championship.
How far they go depends on their health and if they can recoup that spark. They have a dynamic offense and constantly catch opposing defenses off guard with the motions and misdirections they run. They are also a very well-coached and blue-collar team. The school is growing which is adding more players to the pool to choose from as well.
Last year they averaged over 31 ppg and only gave up 14 ppg. They have a high-flying offense and a defense that plays fast and disciplined. Defensively they like to keep everything in front and play smart football. Run to the ball, make the tackle, and minimize the damage.
They are anchored by Rowan Zolman Rowan Zolman 6'5" | 200 lbs | ATH East Noble | 2022 State IN and Christopher Hood. Hood is a 6’8″ 320 lbs 3-star recruit who is committed to Ball State. He sets the edge for the offense and has become a local star. Zolman is someone we have recently covered on the page. Zolman is a 3-star ATH who comes in at 6’5″ 210 lbs. He’s East Noble’s most dynamic playmaker and game-changer. He has a plethora of offers including one where his teammate, Hood, is going.
With the pieces they have, veteran core they have, and the 2 stars they have, East Noble is set up for a huge run. Zolman and Hood are both primed to have massive years and with another championship push, they can really put their recruitment on the map.
You’re looking at a growing school with a coach who has instilled discipline and work ethic. They could easily repeat what they did last year. A 14-1 season where they fell short. They currently have all the tools to do so. They also have the experience and veteran leadership that knows what it’s like to be in the spotlight. I’d keep an eye on East Noble in 2021. They could really win a championship this year and it’s on the list of their expectations as well.
