Prep Redzone looks at a few players that we think you should monitor in the DCIAA this upcoming season. These teams saw their 2020 season wiped out because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We gathered as much information as possible on returning 2022, 2023 and 2024 players. Some teams had little for me to go on but that may change towards the start of this season. ANACOSTIA Jeremiah Drummond/6-3/225/QB/2022 Tyreak Cokley/6-3/270/DL/2023 BALLOU Avante McCrazy/5-11/175/DL/2022 BELL John Stoddard/6-0/170/LB/2022 Dontaivion Blount/6-0/150/WR/2022 COOLIDGE Sean Brooks/RB/2023 Sincere Cole/5-9/165/RB/2022 Anthony Nicholson/5-9/160/WR/2023 DUNBAR Michael Brown Jr./5-9/150/CB/2022 Jaleel Smith/5-11/185/RB/2022 [player_tooltip player_id="140812" first="Mehki" last="Farmer"]/6-4/280/OL Farmer was 1st-Team All-DCIAA lineman on both sides of the football during the 2019 season. Daequan Harvin/5-11/176/RB/2022 Harvin is under the radar due to his team not playing last season because of COVID-19. He has an official time of 10.8 seconds in the 100M dash. Harvin’s got some wheels on him. FRIENDSHIP COLLEGIATE ACADEMY Anthony Martin/6-1/190/WR/2022 [player_tooltip player_id="90587" first="Jalen" last="Webb-Starkey"]/6-1/190/QB/2022 Webb-Starkey didn’t play this past season. His sophomore year highlights showcase his ability to be effective in the short passing game. Abdul-Rasheed Flythe/5-9/2022 Semaj Able/5-10/185/DB/2022 MARET Aaron Poawui/6-0/220/LB/2022 Robbie Engleberg/6-0/195/DB/2022 PARKSIDE William Sadberry IV/6-2/260/DL/2022 Brandon Vazquez/5-11/170/ATH/2022 Marlin Harding/6-0/160/DB/2022 ROOSEVELT Winston Page/6-1/185/WR/2022 Antonio Wilkins/5-9/155/WR/2022 Nehemiah Phillips/6-0/185/WR/2022 Jahmal Edwards/6-0/180/DB/2022 SIDWELL [player_tooltip player_id="90537" first="Dylan" last="Price"]/6-3/260/DE/2022 Price committed to the University of Pennsylvania on Jul. 12. [player_tooltip player_id="90560" first="Gus" last="Burns"]/6-0/210/LB/2022 Burns should get some love in our next rankings update. He’s getting a lot of interest at the D-II and D-III level. [player_tooltip player_id="90617" first="Christian" last="Gamble"]/6-1/190/RB/2022 Here’s what PRZ Maryland’s Parker Smith had to say about Gamble in April:
[player_tooltip player_id="90617" first="Christian" last="Gamble"] is undoubtedly the Fighting Quakers’ most dynamic player on both sides of the ball. From free safety to running back, and of course tight end, Christian does it all and with incredible consistency. On offense, his play making ability is jaw-dropping, and what really stands out when you watch him is his yards after contact. His speed combined with his large frame makes him almost impossible to guard, especially in one on one matchups. D1 scouts and programs should most certainly watch out for [player_tooltip player_id="90617" first="Christian" last="Gamble"] to have more breakout games this Fall.
Chali Taylor/6-2/205/RB/2023 Cameron Gillus/WR/2022 Aaron Garnett/6-3/315/OL/2022 ST. ALBANS [player_tooltip player_id="90585" first="Chase" last="Williams"]/6-1/195/QB/2022 Williams did not get to play a full slate of games during his junior year. He spent his sophomore year season at Our Lady of Good Counsel where he helped lead his team to a WCAC Championship. The WCAC is one of the toughest leagues in the nation. Williams does a great job of selling the play-action which enables him to make the big plays downfield. He’s a mobile quarterback that is adept at climbing the pocket to avoid pressure and make the completion. Williams attacks the edge quickly on rollouts, putting the defense at a disadvantage. Is he going to run or pass Carter Steinberg/6-1/200/DE/2022 WILSON Robert Nelson/5-10/18-/DB/2023 Aiden Washington/6-3/265/DT/2023 WOODSON Josiah Young/5-8/180/DB/2022
