Central Indiana Hidden Gems: 2022

The State of Indiana has some hidden gems that have big potential. We are taking a look at some of these guys and what their positions are now as we head into their final season. [player_tooltip player_id="98003" first="Jeffrey" last="Utzinger"] - Cathedral - LB - 6’2" 205 lbs Utzinger is an Outside Linebacker with nice size and speed. Utzinger is a very cerebral player who thrives during crunch time. He’s someone who sees the field well and reacts before something bad happens. His unique play style has earned him 2-stars and offers from Ball State and Eastern Kentucky. [player_tooltip player_id="98066" first="Max" last="Williams"] - Lebanon - OT - 6’6" 290 lbs Williams clearly is someone with great size and a ton of potential just in his frame. Anytime someone is that large yet filled in well the potential is there. Williams has a great punch but could really learn to control his feet better. With someone that size, it takes time to learn how to control your body. He’s got offers from Columbia, Indiana State, and Ball State. [player_tooltip player_id="98007" first="Jack" last="Greer"] - Hamilton Southeastern - IOL - 6’3" 270lbs Greer is on this list because of how well he controls his body. He’s physical and has a very strong core that he knows how to properly use. He really comes across as a wrestler. Greer has a plethora of offers and some of them are from Dartmouth, Illinois State, Fordham, and Eastern Michigan. [player_tooltip player_id="39064" first="Dillon" last="Moore"] - Ben Davis - ATH - 6’2" 190 lbs Moore is a playmaker. You give him the ball, throw him the ball, or kick the ball to him he just makes stuff happen. He’s fun and has a great twitch. He’s great at making people miss and committing to a play on defense. He’s got multiple offers and 1 from Western Michigan. [player_tooltip player_id="98057" first="Mariere" last="Omonode"] - West Lafayette - DL - 6’1" 260 lbs The first thing to point out is Omonode has a frame that can be something really special. He has extremely wide and broad shoulders. He’s built like a DL for HS but has a great burst and could be a college LB or DE. He’s too fast and too strong with great size not to be moved to the outside at the next level. I believe there is NFL potential here. He’s got a laundry list of FCS offers but no Power 5 offers. Schools like Air Force, Arkansas State, and Bowling Green have offered him. He’s reportedly looking for more offers and he should.
