Throughout this week, we have been evaluating the underrated offensive linemen in the Class of 2022. Today, there are more outstanding offensive linemen, deserving of recognition, that we will discuss. These three have the physical attributes necessary to play along the offensive line, but they also demonstrate the mental and instinctive skills required to do so at a high level. I believe that all three are on the cusp of breakout senior seasons. In that line of thinking, college coaches need be aware of what these outstanding prospects are doing.

[player_tooltip player_id="98007" first="Jack" last="Greer"] is a tenacious prospect, who could be a great leader on the offensive line. Greer is great off the ball. He immediately gets out of his stance, and goes to work. Greer’s first step is excellent. On run plays, he attacks the defensive lineman, and immediately takes control. In general, Greer demonstrates outstanding footwork. During his blocks, he takes short steps all the way through the block, allowing him to drive more. Greer is very aggressive. He consistently initiates the contact.

At 6’8 and 320 pounds, [player_tooltip player_id="98094" first="Chris" last="Hood"] possesses the physical frame of a dominant offensive lineman. But it is more than just his size that makes him impressive. Hood has great power and strength. He frequently overpowers the opponent that he is blocking, and drives them right out of the play. Hood uses his hands very well. He places his hands right in between the numbers, and controls his opponent. Hood plays with good leverage. [player_tooltip player_id="98094" first="Chris" last="Hood"] also possesses good athletic ability. He does a good job quickly getting where he needs to be when his assignment requires him to pull across the line.
[player_tooltip player_id="98087" first="Ethan" last="Hutt"], 6’3, 300 pounds, Franklin Central
[player_tooltip player_id="98087" first="Ethan" last="Hutt"] is an outstanding center, capable of serving as the anchor of the offensive line. Hutt is very good off the ball. As a center, it is critical for him to quickly get out of his stance and get set up, and he does that very well. Hutt has good skills and he takes great angles on his blocks. Hutt positions himself so that the defender he is blocking has no chance of getting to the ball. Hutt has good power, and his blocks often turn into him driving defenders completely out of the play.
