WHAT ARE COACHES MISSING: One of the problems with college coaches not having the chance to see football prospects live for nearly 15 months was the growth and maturity that normally takes place during this time of their lives.
When June 1st arrived, talented athletes from all over the Sunshine State had the chance to showcase skills that hadn’t been watched in a long time.
With Covid this past year, and college coaches missing out on two straight spring practices, the 26 days of this month put a spotlight on several football prospects.
One of them was this young man, who grew and matured over the past 15 months – and when spring arrived – here was this impressive safety, who had size, athletic ability and a knack of being around the ball.
As many college coaches viewed film during the spring and were mighty impressed, this spring, the Patriots showcased this young man at several major college camps and events, and college coaches had the opportunity to watch for themselves.
What the coaches saw was a versatile athlete who covers plenty of ground, while making plays and even moving over the receiver to show his versatility.
With several colleges liking what they saw, now the season ahead will reveal a much different football talent than he was over a year ago – when college coaches and recruiting services missed out on his growth and maturity as a player and as a person.
