St. Augustine’s top receiver Ayo Shotomide got his first offer this week from the University of Idaho.
The Saints don’t exactly light it up in the passing game, but through the first three games of the season Shotomide was the team’s top receiver. He is big at 6-foot-3 and close to 200 pounds and overpowers corners who try to press him in man coverage. He has the speed to beat a lot of defensive backs and has a large catch radius. He also is an effective corner who isn’t afraid to get physical.
Idaho has two receivers from the San Diego on the current roster: Alex Moore from Del Norte and Kyrin Beachem from Oceanside.

Saugus (Santa Clarita) quarterback Colton Fitzgerald took a visit to Toledo last weekend.
Fitzgerald reclassified and is now in the 2022 class joining a few other quarterbacks who didn’t get enough exposure this spring. He had a great spring for Saugus, averaging 237 yards per game with 13 touchdowns and no interceptions. He throws a good ball and coach Danny Hernandez said he throws with five star quarterbacks and holds his own.

Mater Dei (Santa Ana) defensive back Christian Petero picked up an offer from New Mexico Highlands last weekend.
Petero got solid playing time as a freshman in 2019 for the Monarchs and even blocked a punt. Mater Dei’s secondary is loaded and he got a little less time this past spring. He closes to the ball fast and has good football instincts. Mater Dei still has some good players in the secondary returning but with [player_tooltip player_id="25176" first="Shoes" last="Brinkley"] departing, Petero may slide right in and get those snaps.

Murrieta Valley offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="141913" first="Jake" last="Steele"] picked up an offer from Dartmouth last week.
Steele is 6-foot-4 and around 280 pounds with room to grow believe it or not. He played left tackle this spring for the NightHawks. They sometimes pull him on a "stampede" play and he moves well.
Steele also has offers from Oregon, Washington State and UC Davis.

Crean Lutheran (Irvine) receiver Jack Fairchild got his first offer last week by Austin Peay University.
Fairchild is also a basketball player and track athlete at Crean Lutheran. He was far and way their top receiver this spring, hauling in 36 balls for 605 yards and 10 touchdowns. His athleticism stands out at a school like Crean and I love that he doesn’t specialize on one sport.
