[player_tooltip player_id="60733" first="Austin" last="Jordan"] - Denton Ryan

The defending state champions have themselves a strong defensive backfield and it starts with this man right here. Austin had a phenomenal season in 2020 and most undoubtedly will this year as well for Raider fans. Austin is a tall, lean athletic defensive back who is lockdown out there usually covering the team's best receivers. Offers included schools like the Ohio State, Oklahoma Sooners, and Texas Longhorns. It should be interesting to see if Austin decides to stay in-state now that Texas has a new coaching staff.

[player_tooltip player_id="60829" first="Dorian" last="Friend"] - Spring

Dorian is a 3-star defensive back who is a little undersized but makes up for it with his play and athleticism. He shows some elite speed and agility, turning his hips to run and cover receivers downfield. Looks like a ball hawk that will be causing problems for receivers this season. Texas A&M is high on his list, has other offers from Memphis and Houston to name a few.

[player_tooltip player_id="133188" first="Joshua" last="Wiggins"] - Klein Oak

Wiggins just committed to the Buffs. He is a lockdown corner with the requisite height and speed. Covering receivers he can play floated off them a few yards or be physical in press coverage. Shows he can reroute smoothly. Great footwork and technique, make him one of the strongest defenders out on the field. Should be special for his senior campaign for Klein Oak.

[player_tooltip player_id="133189" first="Omari" last="Evans"] - Shoemaker

This guy is some jets. Ran a 4.3 40 yard dash. He’s a beast of an athlete. This guy can do it all. He’s got a long, tall frame, very athletic looking with long arms. He’s a speedster and is utilized returning punts, lining up at receiver or QB, and plays defensive back. Very impressive athlete and one who could move up our charts and many other colleges recruiting boards this season. Keep your eye out for him.

[player_tooltip player_id="60808" first="Jaidan" last="Scott"] - Shadow Creek

Scott holds 14 division I offers to schools like Memphis, Cincinnati, San Diego State, and Washington State. 2020 had 50 tackles, 3 TFLs, 6 PBUs, & 1 forced fumble. He has a very high motor and can fly to the ball. He is a guy that can come downhill and light defenders like a Christmas tree. Has a great awareness of the field. Plays against the run and pass very well. Should be strong this season and at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id="122314" first="Aiden" last="Inesta-Rodriguez"] - Brandeis

No one else has turned heads like this defensive back. Yes, he may be undersized as a corner but he has a phenomenal vertical and athletic ability that more than make up for his lack of height. He can cover the best and fastest of receivers, trail them, then his head around and make a play on the ball. Tremendous athlete on both sides of the ball whose recruitment will take off this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="60822" first="Alan" last="Caracheo"] - Cornerstone Christian

Alan is an up-and-coming defensive back who has Division I talent and can be absolutely lockdown. He shows some great awareness and coverage ability.

Honorable Mentions

Marquan Pope - Guyer

[player_tooltip player_id="60836" first="Devyn" last="Bobby"] - DeSoto

Tevon Cortez - Ciblo Steele
