This past weekend the Rise and Fire camp was held and on Sunday, it was a large group of talent players from all across the country. There’s a good reason why so many traveled far for this camp that was held at St. Francis High School, it’s because Next Level Athletix and their leader Greg Holcomb run a fantastic camp. Not only do they challenge the athletes physically, it’s a mental process as well. One of the best, well run camps I’ve been to. Here are the top quarterback performers from Sunday’s group of upperclassmen and select underclassmen.

2023 Shawnee Mission East, Kansas QB [player_tooltip player_id="122462" first="Parker" last="Leise"] (6’2” and 210lbs) @LeiseParker
A player I have been looking forward to seeing, Leise didn’t disappoint. Accuracy in the “pocket” and on the run was impressive all afternoon. He showed good footwork, a great work ethic and even though Leise hasn’t worked with many or any of the receiver in attendance, he still made all the necessary adjustments to make plays.

He’s stocky with a good frame, already possessing P5 offers, Leise will continue to add more to his list when his fall season begins.

2023 Taft School, Connecticut QB Nick Brown (6’4” and 200lbs) @n1ck8rown
The second time I have seen Brown this summer, he’s gotten better over that course of time. His footwork has improved, always staying on balance which results in accurate throws. There’s room to grow on his frame, especially in his lower-half.

A very good throwing motion, the ball explodes out of his hand. Brown has all the qualities of a P5 recruit and offers should start heading his way.
2022 Nazareth, Illinois [player_tooltip player_id="154776" first="Aidan" last="Pieper"] (6’2” and 205lbs) @PieperAidan
Great frame and projectable body, Pieper is a very good athlete who also has a strong arm. His footwork has gotten better, which means his accuracy and touch has too. Pieper will continue to need to work on this area, occasionally some of his throws are errand due to not getting his feet set correctly.

He’s gotten a few DII offers this summer but could be looking at bigger schools coming after him with a big senior season.

2023 Montini Catholic, Illinois QB [player_tooltip player_id="130444" first="Cole" last="Teschner"] (6’2” and 193lbs) @ColeTeschner
One of the stronger arms in the state, throws in the high 80’s as a pitcher, Teschner thrives in environments like these. Although he wasn’t the best athlete of the bunch, he’s still good enough to make off-scheduled throws when needed.
https://twitter.com/mikefchen/status/1407410225993367552?s=21
Due to his baseball background, Teschner is able to square his shoulders on the run and make impressive throws. He’s getting some MAC interest at the moment and as he enters his junior year, that could be just the beginning for schools noticing Teschner’s talents.

2023 Loyola, Illinois QB [player_tooltip player_id="135826" first="Jake" last="Stearney"] (6’3” and 185lbs) @jakestearney15
Long and athletic, Stearney has a quick motion that gets the ball out of his hands with velocity and accuracy. He’s going to have an opportunity to do something not many Rambler quarterbacks in front of him have done, be a multi-year starter. It’s easy to see why he could do that, along with the arm-strength, Strearney has good footwork, mobility and great size.

He will add on more weight to his frame as he gets older which will just make him more more of a challenge for defenses. As soon as Stearney gets a few games of film under his belt this fall, schools will start offering.

2024 Saline, MI QB CJ Carr (6’3” and 185lbs) @13Cjcarr
The grandsons of former Michigan Wolverine head coach Lloyd, CJ already held multiple P5 offers heading into camp. After seeing him perform, it was easy to see why the offer have flowed in so early for Carr.
https://twitter.com/mikefchen/status/1407411494787104770?s=21
He’s got great size for his age, room to add on weight as he gets older. Carr is polished with his footwork, always squares his shoulders to get good zip and accuracy on his throws. Although he won’t be enrolling anywhere for three more years, when he does, Carr is going to make a major impact for a program.
