We’ve entered the final stages of our breakdown by position of the 2022 and 2023 rankings. Today we talk about the Top 10 linebackers in the 2023 rankings.
1. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138069" first="Ryan" last="Stovall"], Alamogordo</strong>: Stovall enjoyed a great spring with 30 tackles, 2 TFL and 2 forced fumbles in 4 games.
2. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138085" first="Dalton" last="Trapp"], Ruidoso</strong>: The first thing that stands out about Trapp is his size: 6-foot-5. He’s also productive with 10 tackles in the spring.
3. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138050" first="Kenyon" last="Singleton"], Hobbs</strong>: 27 tackles in and 2 QB hurries just four spring games? That will get you on a lot of lists. The Hobbs defense has some players.
4. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138084" first="Brian" last="Armijo"], Socorro</strong>: Armijo is one of the top young defensive players on the Warriors, who again should be one of the top Class 3A teams.
5. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138080" first="Austin" last="Blair"], Carlsbad</strong>: Blair forced fumbles against Hobbs and led the Cavemen with three tackles for losses. He was one of two Carlsbad players to score a defensive touchdown.
6. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138049" first="Saul" last="Ramirez"], Carlsbad</strong>: Ramirez led Carlsbad in both total tackles (32) and assisted tackles (24) in his four games.
7. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138068" first="Owen" last="Hooper"], Silver</strong>: Another sophomore who was highly productive in the spring with 25 tackles in 3 games.
8. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138057" first="John" last="Villareal"], Aztec</strong>: Finished the spring with 17 tackles and 2.5 TFL in 5 games.
9. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138091" first="Ace" last="Gonzalez"], Robertson</strong>: The Cardinals didn’t play this spring because the Las Vegas school district opted out. Gonzalez had a sensational freshman campaign in 2019 with 65 tackles in 11 games.
10.<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="138192" first="Jonathan" last="Caballero"], Eunice</strong>: Made 27 tackles and 4.0 TFL in the spring. He’ll be counted on this fall by a Eunice team that went 5-0 in the spring.
