There’s some intriguing prospects at the offensive line position in the class of 2022. The position becomes more valuable every year in the NFL, with quarterbacks signing huge contracts and needing protection. It’s the same at the high school and college level as well, without the money. Most quarterbacks are very valuable and thus need to be protected like precious cargo. Lineman can make an offense’s job much easier by giving the quarterback time to throw and allowing receivers time to get open. I think every coach in football right now will admit the importance of a dominant offensive line.
In 2022, the position group is led by [player_tooltip player_id="30140" first="Ka’Marii" last="Landers"] and [player_tooltip player_id="30143" first="Jackson" last="Pruitt"]. While those are two tremendous players, there's also a group of guys that deserve more attention as we inch closer to the season. Here are some of the under the radar recruits at offensive line that could take a huge leap when the season starts.

The Detroit Southeastern big man currently has an offer from Grand Valley State. He has a huge frame and can drive opponents off the line. What he lacks in athleticism, he makes up for with solid technique and weight room strength. If he has a big 2021 season, look for May to have offers rolling in. He’s also not reliant on playing at the right tackle position, as he could make the move inside because of his play style.

Babcock has the perfect combination of nastiness and a solid anchor on the offensive line. He can move, as demonstrated by his 4.58 shuttle. In the somewhat rare occasion that he does pull down the line for Lake Orion, he is a force to be reckon with. He was just recently offered by Northern Michigan and we should expect to see a lot more schools show interest as summer camps hit full steam.

[player_tooltip player_id="30210" first="Noah" last="Bauman"]
The 1st Team All State and All Region player, Bauman is a load to deal with up front if you’re a defensive lineman. He can blow up the front 4 and make life harder in the run defense game. He’s a nasty lineman who uses his hands and pure power to throw lineman around. He’s certainly has some of the best film in the state at his position and should be a name to watch this summer.

[player_tooltip player_id="30221" first="DeAntwan" last="Franklin"]
The physical guard has a lot of potential playing on the interior of the offensive line. He has the ideal frame and some really solid technique, especially in the pass game. Another prospect that should have a big summer in terms of recruiting, as he hasn’t yet fully hit his potential. Expect Franklin to dominate next season if he continues to grow as a player.

[player_tooltip player_id="30223" first="Jeffery" last="Burton"]
Fordson has a history of having big time offensive linemen and it’s no secret that Burton could be the next to fill those shoes. Burton is a player who plays till the whistle and always finishes his blocks. He has the frame to play all three positions on the line which could make him an even more enticing prospect. He allowed 0 pressures and 0 sacks in 2020, which is an incredible feat to accomplish in high school.
