We cap of the senior class by looking at some of the top defensive backs in the state. These players are some of the best players in their class to watch out for this season. Some of these players could really raise their recruiting stock this season, lets take a look at who the top lockdown defenders are to watch this season.

These two corners we are fixing to mention in Allen and Lewis, really need no introduction as everyone knows these guys are some of the top defensive backs prospects in the state. Seeing Allen play in person, he’s has a lean frame with long arms and is a very physical defender out on the field. Should be lockdown in his senior season and go out with a bang for Lafayette Christian. With his 42 Divison I offers Allen has his choice of schools to pick from, experts think schools like Miami, Georgia, Louisville, and Ole Miss are just a few schools high in his list.

Lewis just recently committed to the Colorado Buffaloes after his visit. He is one of the most lockdown defenders in the state along with Allen and should be fun to watch in his senior campaign. This corner is absolutely lockdown and can shut down the best of competition. He has long arms and frame, he shows he can trail and backpedal beautifully and can re-route receivers at the LOS. Should be a special player to watch this season and in college.

Jeremiah passes the eye test at 6’1" 180. He’s got the long arms and legs. In 2020 he had 31 tackles, 4 TFLs, 6 PBU,s, and 3 interceptions. He shows some great awareness out on the field and can trail receivers beautifully. A sure tackler in the open field. Jackson will make sure no yards after the catch are gained on him or his side of the field. No offers yet, but that could change this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="136640" first="Ian" last="Goodly"], Covington

Ian is free safety that can blanket the back half of the field. He shows some great awareness and can absolutely jar the ball loose from defenders when making contact on passes over the middle. He has a few improvements he can make on his came here and there but he is one player that could move up our charts this season if he puts out some good senior tape.

[player_tooltip player_id="136641" first="Justin" last="Collins"], University Lab

Received his first offer from McNeese State earlier this year. This 6’2" 190ilbs DB is one to keep your eye on this season. Collins plays a hybrid DB/ LB position and can be used to be brought down in the box to defend against the run. He has some elite size and ability and I think he is a big-time sleeper. An FBS type of prospect who could earn himself more offers in his senior season.
