Five defensive backs made it into the top fifty rankings, not counting those in the athlete category who may end up as safeties or corners at the next level. The number one ranked defensive back in the state is a tall and rangy safety that closes on the football quickly. Perry takes great angles to the football and really unloads on running backs and wide receivers when tackling. He is normally the first man downfield on the kickoff coverage unit and is a sure tackler in space.

Bryant rules the secondary as a cover 3 free safety of a half field coverage man in cover 2. He does an outstanding job of reading the quarterbacks eyes as he breaks to make a play on the thrown football. Bryant’s athleticism is on display when he goes up in the air to highpoint the football. He possesses terrific speed and is a dangerous kickoff returner to the opposition.

Moore can separate the receiver from the football due to the ferocity of his hitting. He is nearly impossible to block because of his ability to run right through blockers without breaking stride in order to get to the football. Moore is also a gifted wide receiver who can make catch the ball in a crowd and, once in the openfield, has the speed to pull away from defenders.

One of the fastest and versatile athletes in the state, Hawkins can flip his hips instantly to break on the pass from his safety position. He gets his body in the right position and displays precision timing when going up for the football. Being a talented receiver himself, he is an intelligent safety who understands passing concepts and patterns.
Arvin Bell 5’9” 180 Bowling Green South Warren
Bell plays safety and cornerback for South Warren but is destined to be corner or nickelback at the next level. He is technically impressive at the various corner alignments and responsibilities; press man, press and bail, off man, and basic zone coverages. Bell has great anticipation in breaking on the pass to make a play on the football.
