Island Coast Ready To Break Out In 2021

As many high school football teams throughout Florida struggled to get their games in – some playing as few as three and four contests, Cape Coral Island Coast went through a full year. While head coach <strong>Elgin Hicks</strong> and his Gators posted a 6-5 record, plenty of talent had the opportunity to gain experience against a quality schedule. Every year teams use the previous season as reference, and with wins over Cape Coral Mariner, Estero, East Lee County, Bonito Springs, Golden Gate and South Fort Myers in the playoffs, this is a team that came back this spring ready to go. Even the season-ending loss to Fort Myers Dunbar (39-27) was encouraging for the coaches and the returning players. Among those Class of 2022 seniors will be standouts <strong>Keon Anderson</strong> (RB/LB, 6-1, 205), <strong>Dekarai Allen</strong> (RB/DB/WR, 5-11, 185), <strong>Jake Mueller</strong> (QB/TE/LB/DE, 6-2, 200) and versatile defensive prospect <strong>Aiden Parilli</strong> (LB/FB, 6-0, 195). All will be looked upon to show leadership along with experience. Also, the Class of 2022 has <strong>Ray Ray Ayala</strong> (RB/DB, 5-8, 160), athletic <strong>Jake Billings</strong> (WR/DB, 6-1, 175),<strong> [player_tooltip player_id="32800" first="Isaiah" last="Davis"]</strong> (QB/FB, 5-8, 170), <strong>Dylan Deangelo </strong>(RB/LB, 5-10, 175), <strong>Marcus Emilus</strong> (WR/DB, 5-10, 160), <strong>Roberto Fontanez </strong>(OL/DL, 6-0, 225) and linebacker/fullback <strong>Brendan Marshall</strong> (6-0, 190). There are also offensive linemen <strong>Kaidan Monarrez</strong> (6-0, 290) and <strong>Tre Reid</strong> (6-0, 255), <strong>Michael Sutton</strong> (WR/DB/RB, 5-9, 150) and <strong>Derek Zurita</strong> (RB/LB/DB, 5-10, 180). <strong>UNDERCLASSMEN WILL PLAY A HUGE ROLE</strong> As much as this program will look toward the senior class, the impressive 2023 group that the Gators have will also make a huge impact. Among those juniors will be <strong>Kelton Henderson</strong> (RB/CB, 5-11, 180) and versatile <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="128488" first="Emmanuel" last="Laguerre"]</strong> (DE/TE, 6-3, 190). The Gators will also feature <strong>Zach Ackerson </strong>(LB/SS, 5-9, 155), <strong>Anthony Belton</strong> (DL, 5-8, 215), <strong>Brendan Cruz</strong> (OL/DL, 6-2, 240), <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="128638" first="Jeremiah" last="Edmond"]</strong> (OL/DL, 5-10, 230), <strong>Huriel Garcia</strong> (LB, 5-10, 215), <strong>Lucas German</strong> (WR/DB, 6-1, 170) and impressive two-way standout <strong>Glenn Green</strong> (DB/RB, 5-9, 170). In addition, keep your eye on <strong>Brandon Malone</strong> (LB/SS, 5-10, 175), <strong>Bruno Montrund</strong> (WR/DB, 6-1, 160), <strong>Christian Parilli</strong> (RB/DB/WR, 6-0, 170), <strong>Ofil Ramos</strong> (TE/DE, 6-2, 205) and kicker <strong>Jude Skrat</strong> (5-8, 150).
