FAU Breaks The Seal On The Summer

As the morning heat and humidity did its thing on Friday at FAU, the Owls gave 100 standout football prospects something to remember. For the first time in 15 months, head coach <strong>Willie Taggart</strong> and his staff could finally shake hands, talk and admire many quality prospects LIVE. With a number of central Florida area football players making their way to the opening session, several prospects that this program had looked at during the pandemic, were right there on campus – checking out a new facility that is indeed eye catching. Football players who wanted to be in Boca Raton and with Coach Taggart and his staff at the first session of the June Camp Series. They came from Texas, Washington, Maryland and New Jersey to impress coaches live, and many did. The campers had an opportunity to learn from coaches like <strong>Michael Johnson, Ed Warinner, Kevin Patrick, Stanford Samuels Jr., Lance Thompson, Joey Thomas, Chris Perkins, Mike Stoops, Raymond Woodie, Jon Bills</strong> and <strong>David Kelly,</strong> who has run and organized camps and 7-on-7 events for decades. NFL great Hines Ward is also out helping the young FAU Owls and was front and center on Friday. It was the first time that the recruits had the chance to see a facility that really will turn some heads – and that’s what this program needed.
