The state of Arkansas has always done an impressive job on producing quality offensive linemen and running backs. However, we can start to pencil some talented defensive backs that are playmakers as well. We are going to examine some defensive backs that have the potential to have a big 2021 season. So, let’s get started.

The Little Rock Parkview safety has become one of the state’s most sought after prospects in the class of 2022. White has received 22 scholarship offers and his recruitment is going to be interesting one to watch as we approach the 2021 season. He does an impressive job of dropping back into pass coverage. White is not afraid to deliver a hard hit and separate the ball from the ball carrier. One area that is extremely impressive for the Parkview safety is his ability to read and diagnose the play. He reacts quickly and will fill the rushing lanes when needed. White has the potential to have an excellent 2021 season.
[player_tooltip player_id="133156" first="Nick" last="Bell"]-Cornerback-Bentonville West-2023
Bell does a terrific job of playing both sides of the ball for the Bentonville West Wolverines. From a defensive perspective, Bell does an impressive job of using his speed to harass opposing wide receivers. He has good hands and can take an interception the other direction for a touchdown easily. After displaying a 4.37 second 40-yard dash and a 37-inch vertical at the Arkansas camp over the offseason, Bell has the potential to have a strong 2021 season for the Wolverines.
[player_tooltip player_id="92760" first="Troy" last="Wiseman"]-Cornerback-Conway-2022
Wiseman is a cornerback that has the potential to have a strong 2021 season. The Conway Wampus Cat does a solid job of playing the run. He will not shy away from making the tackle and always seems to be around the football. Wiseman’s speed and ability to jam opposing wide receivers are impressive traits. He has earned a scholarship offer from Arkansas Baptist and he has the potential to earn some more scholarship offers with a strong season. Wiseman is a player to keep an eye on this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="91975" first="CJ" last="Turner"]-Safety-Star City-2023
One prospect that has had a tremendous offseason is Star City’s [player_tooltip player_id="91975" first="CJ" last="Turner"]. The young man is an extremely hard hitter at the safety position. He has earned two scholarship offers this offseason after performing well at camps at Arkansas State and Memphis. Turner has good hands and can make plays on the ball. Turner likes to get physical with opposing wide receivers and can disrupt a passing game with his aggressiveness. Turner is going to be a player that will earn more scholarship offers this season. He is a player with a remarkably high ceiling and one that will be playing on Saturdays in the future.
[player_tooltip player_id="127245" first="Ryan" last="Maxwell"]-Cornerback-Fayetteville-2022
Maxwell is a work horse in a talented Fayetteville secondary. He has extremely strong hands and can frustrater opposing wide receivers with how he can jam at the line of scrimmage. Maxwell has good hands and can take an interception the opposite way quickly. He is another defensive back that is not afraid to tackle and deliver a hit. The offseason work has been impressive, and he is setting the stage for a big 2021 season. Maxwell has the potential to play on Saturdays and I fully expect him to accomplish that goal.
