In the 26 days that this program had the opportunity to reunite with high school players, coaches and fans, camps, 7-on-7 events and the Paradise Camp once again put the focus on recruiting and the school.
In a summer where we had the chance to visit nine colleges – many multiple times – the theme was making the experience as memorable as possible, especially with the Class of 2022 squarely on the clock.
Getting commitments in the three-week NCAA “Dark Period” will be essential for programs across the country, and in Coral Gables, the ‘Canes are certainly ready to get some of those elite athletes that they worked so hard to impress and stay in touch with.
As we brought you five prospects who made an impact at the camp yesterday, today we are back at it with five more head-turners, who UM coaches were very impressed by.
2023 – Amare Ferrell Amare Ferrell 6'1" | 195 lbs | DB Lake City Columbia | 2023 State FL , S, Lake City Columbia. On a team loaded with prospects, here is an underclassman that has started to pick up plenty of interest – with his skill, size (6-1, 195) and ability to play four different secondary positions. At the camp, he showcased the skills that made him a player who has interest from colleges across the nation. He covers, tackles and is athletic enough to battle anyone for the ball.

2022 – Benjamin Hudson, OLB, Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, Nevada. One of the players who certainly came the furthest was someone we had the opportunity to watch during drills- where Hurricane great Jon Beason singled him out for his aggressive play and quickness. He also stood out in the 1-on-1 drills, which gave the coaches a chance to watch him perform. While his father grew up in south Florida and knew that the athletes would provide him with a test, he got his chance and did very well.

2024 – Antoine Jackson, CB, Fort Lauderdale Dillard. From the first time we watched this impressive sophomore, there was no doubt that over the next three seasons, it would be tough to find someone with this kind of talent. No matter where he went during the off-season, college coaches watched and were amazed at this skill that such a young player had. Like at Paradise Camp, he was always looking to pair himself with the best receivers on hand, and at 6-1, 175, the Panthers know that they have this position cemented for the 2021 and beyond. Quickness, long arms and the ability to read plays from the start puts this talented secondary performer in a class by himself.

2022 – Earl Little Jr., CB, Plantation American Heritage. Having watched this young man for the past 10 years, through a successful youth career and three seasons of high school football, you would be hard pressed to find someone who has continued to get better, putting himself in a position where every college in the nation would love to have this versatile and talented young man in their secondary. A cover-corner, who hits and thinks like a safety, the son of a University of Miami legacy put on a show at the camp – and all eyes were on a prospect who can define any program that he’s part of. Tremendous talent who Miami would love to have carry on the family tradition.

2022 – Sean Wilson, WR, Middle Village Christ The King, N.Y. At 6-5, 215 pounds, here is a prospect that stole the show – and everyone watching was blown away by his size, athletic ability and skill level. He was a nightmare for defensive backs to cover. With every college looking to land this impressive New York standout, getting the chance to watch him up close was something that University of Miami coaches needed to do. Getting the chance to see him up against Florida talent was an indication that this impressive talent can play the game.
