Continuing the All-State offensive series we’re taking a look at 2A Football throughout the state of Illinois. I have determined the first team, second team, and honorable mention. Without further ado, let’s dive into the 2A All-State Team – Offensive Edition. <hr /> <span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><em><strong>1st Team </strong></em></span> <em>QB Chord Miller 21’ St Teresa <a href="https://twitter.com/Chord_Miller12">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Miller is from St Teresa, he puts the ball in the receiver’s basket and makes level 3 throws. He can get the ball out quickly, can put zip on the ball, and has a touch on the deep ball. Mr. Miller runs the read-option showcasing his mobility, has quick acceleration, and breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving. He plays through contact, has the speed to burst past the 2nd level of defenders, and reads his blocks well. <em>QB Wade Jostes 21’ Maora Forsyth <a href="https://twitter.com/wadejostes1">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Jostes is from Maora Forsyth, he makes level 1 2 &amp; 3 throws and puts the ball in the receiver’s basket. He uses his pocket footwork to get the ball off under pressure, extends plays by finding his man downfield, and has a touch on the deep ball. Mr. Jostes can throw on the run, can get the ball out quickly when running RPOs, and can put zip on the ball. He’s also mobile with his quick acceleration and he reads his blocks well. <em>RB Bryson Boes 21’ Maora Forsyth <a href="https://twitter.com/BrysonBoes">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Boes is from Maora Forsyth, he’s an N/S runner with quick acceleration and can burst past the 2nd level of defenders. He breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving, is elusive making the first defender miss, and plays through contact. Mr. Boes has the vision to see cutback lanes, uses his jump cuts well, and has playmaking abilities. <em>RB [player_tooltip player_id="155142" first="Jordan" last="Merideth"] 22’ Chester <a href="https://twitter.com/JordanWMerideth">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Merideth is from Chester, he’s an N/S runner with quick acceleration and bursts through the line of scrimmage. He’s not afraid to lower his shoulder, has the vision to see cutback lanes, and is elusive making the first defender miss. Mr. Merideth can catch out of the backfield, gets upfield after securing the catch, and uses his jump cuts well. He breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving, has the speed to turn the corner, and reads blocks well. <em>WR [player_tooltip player_id="155249" first="Mason" last="Hackman"] 22’ Bishmark Henning </em> Mr. Hackman is from Bishmark Henning, he makes contested catches by high pointing the ball and has quick acceleration. He breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving, gets upfield after securing the catch, and blocks downfield. Mr. Hackman is a deep threat that’s quick off the line of scrimmage and has playmaking abilities. <em>WR Brayden Haines 21’ Watseka <a href="https://twitter.com/itsbo24">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Haines is from Watseka, he’s quick off the line of scrimmage and breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving. He gets upfield after securing the catch, makes contested catches by high pointing the ball, and finds soft spots in the defense. Mr. Haines runs jet sweeps, reads his blocks well, and has quick acceleration. <em>WR Connor Tripp 21’ Auburn <a href="https://twitter.com/ConnorTripp3">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Tripp is from Auburn, he’s quick off the line of scrimmage and is a deep threat. He makes contested catches by high pointing the ball, has a good break at the top of the route creating separation from the defender, and gets upfield after securing the catch. Mr. Tripp is a deep threat with quick acceleration, makes the catch in traffic, and has playmaking abilities. <em>TE Eric Watson 21’ Bishmark Henning <a href="https://twitter.com/Ewats44">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Watson is from Bishmark Henning, he makes contested catches by high pointing the ball and is used as a lead blocker. He washes the d-line down, keeps feet driving resulting in pancaking defenders, and gets to 2nd level blocks by playing through the whistle. <em>OL Tyler Woods 21’ St Teresa </em> Mr. Woods is from St Teresa, he washes the d-line down and holds his own one-on-one in pass pro. He creates running lanes by pulling, keeps his feet driving resulting in pancaking the defender, and gets hands-on quickly. Mr. Woods gets after it by playing through the whistle and showcasing his aggressive playstyle. <em>OL [player_tooltip player_id="149556" first="Haven" last="Hatfield"] 22’ Tuscola <a href="https://twitter.com/HavenHatfield1">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Hatfield is from Tuscola, he gets to 2nd level blocks and keeps feet driving resulting in pancaking defenders. He creates running lanes when pulling, washes the d-line down, and gets hands-on quickly. Mr. Hatfield blocks in open space, holds his own one-on-one in pass pro by staying square, and fires off the ball playing through the whistle. <em>OL [player_tooltip player_id="65774" first="Matthew" last="Haan"] 21’ Chicago Christian <a href="https://twitter.com/matthaanlaw">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Haan is from Chicago Christian, he washes the d-line down and gets to 2nd level blocks. He gets hands-on quickly, keeps feet driving resulting in pancaking defenders, and holds his own one-on-one in pass pro. Mr. Haan creates running lanes, fires off the ball, and plays through the whistle. <span style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 14pt;"><em><strong>2nd Team</strong></em></span> <em>QB [player_tooltip player_id="65850" first="Jay" last="Lemenager"] 21’ Clifton Central <a href="https://twitter.com/JLem2402">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Lemenager is from Clifton Central, he makes level 3 throws and has a touch on the deep ball. He extends plays by finding his man downfield, gets the ball off under pressure, and can throw on the run. Mr. Lemenager can put zip on the ball, can scramble showcasing his mobility with his quick acceleration, and has playmaking abilities. <em>QB Jake Ackman 21’ Newman Central Catholic <a href="https://twitter.com/jake_ackman14">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Ackman is from Newman Central Catholic, he makes level 1 2 &amp; 3 throws and puts a touch on the deep ball. He uses his pocket footwork to get the ball off under pressure, puts the ball in the receiver’s basket, and can put zip on the ball. Mr. Ackman can scramble where he showcases his mobility with his quick acceleration and reads blocks well. <em>RB [player_tooltip player_id="20869" first="Aidan" last="Laughery"] 22’ Gibson City <a href="https://twitter.com/AidanLaughery">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Laughery is from Gibson City, he’s an N/S runner and bursts past the 2nd level of defenders. He fights for extra yards by playing through contact, breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving, and is elusive making defenders miss. Mr. Laughery reads blocks well, uses his jump cuts well, and doesn’t give up on plays with his playmaking abilities. <em>RB [player_tooltip player_id="65151" first="Joe" last="Sacco"] 21’ St Edwards <a href="https://twitter.com/JoeSacco23">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Sacco is from St Edwards, he’s an N/S runner and plays through contact by fighting for extra yards. He bursts through the line of scrimmage, has the vision to see cutback lanes, and has the speed to turn the corner. He keeps his feet driving resulting in pancaking the defender, creates running lanes, and is a deep threat. Mr. Howard gets hands-on quickly, is a deep threat with his quick acceleration, and has playmaking abilities. <em>TE [player_tooltip player_id="155263" first="Riker" last="Triplett"] 22’ Unity <a href="https://twitter.com/RikerTriplett">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Triplett is from Unity, he gets upfield after securing the catch and isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder. He plays through contact by fighting for extra yards, breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving, and has quick acceleration. <em>OL Hunter Howe 21’ Bishmark Henning <a href="https://twitter.com/HunterH18538973">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Howe is from Bishmark Henning, he washes the d-line down and gets to 2nd level blocks. He holds his own one-on-one in pass pro, washes the d-line down, and plays through the whistle. <em>OL [player_tooltip player_id="20317" first="Hunter" last="Sperling"] 21’ Chicago Christian <a href="https://twitter.com/hsper_1">Twitter</a></em> Mr. Sperling is from Chicago Christian, he gets to 2nd level blocks and keeps his feet driving resulting in pancaking defenders.
