Continuing the All-State offensive series we’re taking a look at 2A Football throughout the state of Illinois. I have determined the first team, second team, and honorable mention. Without further ado, let’s dive into the 2A All-State Team – Offensive Edition.

<em>QB Chord Miller 21’ St Teresa <a href="https://twitter.com/Chord_Miller12">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Miller is from St Teresa, he puts the ball in the receiver’s basket and makes level 3 throws. He can get the ball out quickly, can put zip on the ball, and has a touch on the deep ball. Mr. Miller runs the read-option showcasing his mobility, has quick acceleration, and breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving. He plays through contact, has the speed to burst past the 2nd level of defenders, and reads his blocks well.
<em>QB Wade Jostes 21’ Maora Forsyth <a href="https://twitter.com/wadejostes1">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Jostes is from Maora Forsyth, he makes level 1 2 & 3 throws and puts the ball in the receiver’s basket. He uses his pocket footwork to get the ball off under pressure, extends plays by finding his man downfield, and has a touch on the deep ball. Mr. Jostes can throw on the run, can get the ball out quickly when running RPOs, and can put zip on the ball. He’s also mobile with his quick acceleration and he reads his blocks well.

Mr. Boes is from Maora Forsyth, he’s an N/S runner with quick acceleration and can burst past the 2nd level of defenders. He breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving, is elusive making the first defender miss, and plays through contact. Mr. Boes has the vision to see cutback lanes, uses his jump cuts well, and has playmaking abilities.

Mr. Merideth is from Chester, he’s an N/S runner with quick acceleration and bursts through the line of scrimmage. He’s not afraid to lower his shoulder, has the vision to see cutback lanes, and is elusive making the first defender miss. Mr. Merideth can catch out of the backfield, gets upfield after securing the catch, and uses his jump cuts well. He breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving, has the speed to turn the corner, and reads blocks well.

Mr. Hackman is from Bishmark Henning, he makes contested catches by high pointing the ball and has quick acceleration. He breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving, gets upfield after securing the catch, and blocks downfield. Mr. Hackman is a deep threat that’s quick off the line of scrimmage and has playmaking abilities.

Mr. Haines is from Watseka, he’s quick off the line of scrimmage and breaks arm tackles by keeping his feet driving. He gets upfield after securing the catch, makes contested catches by high pointing the ball, and finds soft spots in the defense. Mr. Haines runs jet sweeps, reads his blocks well, and has quick acceleration.

Mr. Tripp is from Auburn, he’s quick off the line of scrimmage and is a deep threat. He makes contested catches by high pointing the ball, has a good break at the top of the route creating separation from the defender, and gets upfield after securing the catch. Mr. Tripp is a deep threat with quick acceleration, makes the catch in traffic, and has playmaking abilities.

Mr. Watson is from Bishmark Henning, he makes contested catches by high pointing the ball and is used as a lead blocker. He washes the d-line down, keeps feet driving resulting in pancaking defenders, and gets to 2nd level blocks by playing through the whistle.
<em>OL Tyler Woods 21’ St Teresa </em>
Mr. Woods is from St Teresa, he washes the d-line down and holds his own one-on-one in pass pro. He creates running lanes by pulling, keeps his feet driving resulting in pancaking the defender, and gets hands-on quickly. Mr. Woods gets after it by playing through the whistle and showcasing his aggressive playstyle.

Mr. Hatfield is from Tuscola, he gets to 2nd level blocks and keeps feet driving resulting in pancaking defenders. Mr. Hatfield blocks in open space, holds his own one-on-one in pass pro by staying square, and fires off the ball playing through the whistle.

Mr. Ackman is from Newman Central Catholic, he makes level 1 2 & 3 throws and puts a touch on the deep ball. Mr. Laughery reads blocks well, uses his jump cuts well, and doesn’t give up on plays with his playmaking abilities.

There is an abundance of talented athletes in 2A Football throughout the state of Illinois. That being said, this is your 2A Football All-State Team Offensive Edition.
