An inside look into some of the 2022 offensive prospects rising up the Prep Redzone Rankings. [player_tooltip player_id="87316" first="Djouvensky" last="Schlenbaker"], RB, Squalicum, 6’1” 215 lbs. At 6’1” 215 lbs. Schlenbaker is one of the premier big backs in the western region. He’s a downhill powerful runner that is extremely difficult to get to the ground. He’s a plus athlete with good game speed and burst. He shows great balance, leg drive, and leverage to run through contact and break tackles at the LOS and in space. Possesses natural instincts and awareness as a ball carrier with good field vision and patience to find open running lanes. Currently holds seven D1 offers including Washington, Washington State, Colorado, Cal, Virginia Tech, and Air Force. [player_tooltip player_id="151850" first="Jack" last="Velling"], TE, Seattle Prep Great size and length for a major D1 TE at 6’5” 225 lbs. The state is deep with top end talent at the position but with his versatility as an inline blocker and a receiver it makes sense that he’s one of the fasting rising recruits in the state. He possesses good overall athleticism with his speed, burst, and mobility. He’s explosive off the ball and puts himself in good positional leverage as a blocker and receiver. He’s a physical blocker that is strong at the contact point and can execute different blocks with good technique. Smooth receiver that catches everything with his hands and has a large catch radius. Already a great college prospect with nine offers but his recruiting stock will continue to rise as he progresses. [player_tooltip player_id="87323" first="Keith" last="Olson"], OL, Napavine Ideal size, length, and frame for the college level at 6’6” 290 lbs. Shows good natural strength at the POA with a good initial punch and ability to re-anchor/re-position himself after first contact. When engaged with a block, he does a good job locking into the defender and moving his feet to mirror their movement and stay in front. Good posture and bend in his pass set and displays a quick kick step to beat the defender to the contact point. As a run blocker, he’s quick off the ball, physical, and finishes his blocks to the whistle. Picked up his first offer from his father’s alma mater Oregon State in September but has since added Cal, Utah, USC, Boise State, and San Diego State. [player_tooltip player_id="87362" first="Tyler" last="Lawrence"], OL, Puyallup Lawrence is a three-sport athlete (football, basketball, baseball) and it shows. He flashes excellent feet, bend, and mobility for his size at 6’5” 300 lbs. He shows a good explosion out of his stance and quick initial burst to get to his spot when pulling or working to the second level. He can be a finisher when he needs to be but can also be a finesse blocker and effectively sustain a block to wall off a defender. He’s quick to flash his hands and be ready punch with good extension and strength. Recruiting has been steadily building starting off with D3/NAIA offers before he picked up a few FCS and now has his first FBS from Air Force. [player_tooltip player_id="87368" first="Joshua" last="Wood"], QB, Graham-Kapowsin A lot to like out of the 6’3” 195 lb. QB from Graham-Kapowsin. He shows a quick, compact throwing motion that can get it out with a flick of the wrist. He gets the ball out quick and on time showing good route anticipation and ability to throw his receivers open. Love his movement around the pocket and ability to extend the play avoiding pressure while he finds a target downfield. Plus arm talent to mix up velocities or throw with touch when necessary. He shows he can use his eyes to manipulate defenders and create open throwing lanes. Holds an offer from Idaho State but expect his stock to rise after a strong showing in the spring season. [player_tooltip player_id="87392" first="Julian" last="Mason"], WR, Graham-Kapowsin Mason is a talented receiver with a great ability to track the ball. His spatial awareness and natural instincts as a receiver allow him to make highlight reel catches requiring that high level coordination and adjustment ability. Strong route runner that shows good burst out of his stance and can eat up cushion quickly. He’s not a burner in terms of top end speed but he’s savvy with his movement and flashes good game speed to make plays after the catch. He’s creative and does a great job selling his routes then breaking off defenders at the top. One offer to date from Florida Atlantic but his connection with QB [player_tooltip player_id="87368" first="Joshua" last="Wood"] could boost both of their recruiting.
