Throughout this offseason, we have done a lot of looking ahead. Today, we are going to shift gears a little bit and look at the outgoing Senior class. While many have locked down their future plans, there are still several marquee players who have not committed to a college program. Over the next few days, we evaluate the top unsigned quarterbacks in the Class of 2021. Unquestionably, these prospects will have a chip on their shoulder. All of the players on this list can be serious contributors to the success of a program. [player_tooltip player_id="38948" first="Henry" last="Hesson"], 6’1, 175 pounds, Avon [player_tooltip player_id="38948" first="Henry" last="Hesson"] is the kind of quarterback that finds ways to make a play. Hesson has great arm strength. He can drive the ball down the field and his throws are always well-timed. Hesson also has very good accuracy. He does a good job putting the ball right where it needs to be. He is able to place the ball where the defender cannot make a play on it and he often hits his receivers in stride, allowing them to run for a big play. Hesson also has good mobility. He can tire out pass rush rushers by extending plays and making them chase him. [player_tooltip player_id="38948" first="Henry" last="Hesson"] does so many things well, making him a good fit for any offense. [player_tooltip player_id="38915" first="Ron" last="Powlus"], 6’3, 230 pounds, Penn [player_tooltip player_id="38915" first="Ron" last="Powlus"] has great pocket presence. Powlus is not afraid to stay in the pocket when he is under pressure. He will take the hit and still deliver a great throw. Powlus has great arm strength and he can make all of the throws. Powlus puts the ball where it needs to be and he leads the receiver. Powlus maintains a high level of composure at all times. [player_tooltip player_id="38932" first="Duce" last="Taylor"], 6’0, 180 pounds, North Side [player_tooltip player_id="38932" first="Duce" last="Taylor"] checks every box for a quarterback at the collegiate level. Taylor has good arm strength and tremendous accuracy. He shows that he can see the field very well. Both as a passer and as a runner, he reads the play very well and makes good decisions. Taylor is also extremely elusive. He frequently escapes sack attempts and he can extend the play. Taylor can also be a threat running the ball. He does well to find the open field and pick up yardage. [player_tooltip player_id="81699" first="Nathan" last="McCahill"], 6’0, 185 pounds, Cathedral [player_tooltip player_id="81699" first="Nathan" last="McCahill"] has both the talent and instinct to succeed at the next level. McCahill does a great job reading the defense before the play. He is very calm and collected at the line of scrimmage and he does well getting the offense organized. McCahill makes solid throws. His throws are always accurate, on time and normally placed in a spot where defenders cannot get to the ball. During the play, McCahill makes a good read before the throwing the ball. He does not make dangerous throws into traffic and he will avoid costly interceptions. All four of these quarterback are exceptional players, who will come in to camp with something to prove. Each of the prospects possesses the skills and instincts necessary to lead a college offense. These student athletes are the kinds of players that will get better and better throughout their time in college. All four can be tremendous players at the next level. College coaches looking for somebody to lead their offense in to the future, should look no further than these four elite quarterbacks.
