Defensive Spotlight
Tupulea Afalava, DL, 6’2″ 225lbs, Rogers HS ’23
Film: https://www.hudl.com/profile/13378244/Tupulea-Bam-Afalava
The sophomore DL had a significant role on the Rogers defense to start his young career. He is still growing into his frame, which will be interesting to see how he grows within the upcoming years. Afalava displays solid functional strength up front and is continuing to get stronger and sharpen up his craft in the offseason. He’s flashed violent hands to win against offensive linemen and find his way into the backfield. He does a great job with pursuit as he frequently pursues plays downfield or on the opposite sideline. He plays til the whistle and does not give up on plays, which helped him put himself in position to make plays down the field. He reads plays fairly well given his age, so you can expect the game to slow down for him a bit and expect a quicker reaction going into his junior season. He holds a 4.08 GPA and will be attending numerous camps this summer, and is a 2023 sleeper to get on your radar.

Offensive Spotlight
Wesley Garrett Wesley Garrett 5'11" | 180 lbs | ATH Kamiak | 2022 State WA , WR, 5’11″ 180lbs, Kamiak HS ’22
Film: https://www.hudl.com/profile/11046197/Wesley-garrett
Garrett is a very dynamic player and a potential breakout player for next season as well. He can line up in the slot, X/Z, PR and KR and pose as a threat from all of those positions. Kamiak loves to get him the ball anyway possible, as he totaled 466 yards and 7 TD’s in just a 4 game season. They like to use him on jet sweeps, where he shows good vision as a ball carrier and accelerates through opening lanes. Garrett has shown solid change of direction in tight spaces to make opponents miss, which often springs him loose into space. He has a solid initial burst off the LOS as a route runner and does a good job tracking the ball in to secure the catch. He possesses good top end speed for big play ability to finish big runs and be a threat with the ball. He’s a dangerous return man on special teams as well, as he’s often one cut away from six. Garrett was awarded “1st Team All-Wesco 4A WR” as a junior, and holds massive potential to be a big time player during his senior campaign given a full season.
