In this article, I will be taking a look at what went on recruiting wise for Michigan prospects last week. As the summer approaches, colleges are continuing to offer prospects hoping that they can visit campus in the summer. This year, summer visits will be especially important for colleges as they will finally be able to host recruits for the first time since March of 2020 due to COVID-19.
Pair of Ann Arbor Huron HS receives offer from Purdue
On Tuesday, both Tyler Bivens and Bruce Williams earned offers from Purdue. Both of these guys had no offers before Tuesday and to receive a P5 offer on their first offer is a big deal. Bivens is 6’0 DB with great speed and has performed very well at numerous camps throughout the offseason. Like Bivens, Williams has shown why he is a P5 caliber prospect this offseason. The son of Josh Williams, a Michgan DT who went on to play for the Colts, Bruce is following in his father’s footsteps and will be one of the top Dline players in the state of Michigan this season. A day later, Bruce received his second offer from West Virginia. Ann Arbor Huron will most definitely be a team to look out for during the 2021 as they have other D1 caliber prospects like [player_tooltip player_id="99350" first="Koen" last="Entringer"], [player_tooltip player_id="30353" first="Torrence" last="Greene"], Zyers Ruff, among others.
CJ Carr Shines at Elite 11 Regional in Indianapolis
On Sunday, the Elite 11 held a regional in Indianapolis. There were many nationally ranked QBs in attendance including guys like Drew Allar, Brady Allen, and Tayven Jackson. Even though most of the attention was on 2022’s, a young prospect that was able to stand out and make a name for himself was CJ Carr. Last week, I included Carr in an article on ’24 names to know. If you read that article, I had high praise for Carr so his performance at the Elite 11 regional should not be much of a surprise. He was named the one of the top underclassmen at the camp and was tied for 1st place in the "Golden Gun Accuracy Challenge". His performance will surely give him a lot of recruiting attention as we head into the summer.
