PrepRedzone hosted numerous talented athletes in Crown Point, IN on Sunday. With so many top-tier players emerging from the camp, let's take a closer look at the offensive linemen & who made their mark.
[player_tooltip player_id="98078" first="Richard" last="Myers"] | 6’7 300lbs | OL | Castle | Class of 2022 | @rkmyers22
Myers is becoming one of the true sleepers of the ’22 Class. He has shown major improvements from camps and training this off-season. His camp performance continues to stand out among the rest as a goliath of a lineman with great footwork & the ability to change direction on a dime, a rare talent of someone his size. Facing off against a variety of play styles from DL’s he maintained the fundamentals and executed his role with ease. Prepare for Myers to be sifting through many offers by this winter.
Ben Decker | 6’5 265lbs | OL | Noblesville | Class of 2023 | @BenDecker79
Decker has some immense talent, his wrestling background is showcased quickly on every rep and is a key element to his game. Fantastic hand placement with a mean punch means Decker will surely continue to have success as he rises through the ranks. Ben’s frame is already well established and will continue to fill out into a formidable blocking force as he is going into his Junior season. With a quick snap off the ball & his size, he has some major upside to many programs going forward.
Josh White | 6’2 245lbs | OL | Lafayette Jeff | Class of 2023 | @joshwhite125
White has some explosive energy coming off the line and quick feet, so it is no surprise that he stood out amongst some of the top talents in the state. White has some intense punches and is patient to make his initial moves and not get caught up in a fancy defensive move. It will be exciting to observe Josh as he comes into his own this year, he has a very high output and will be a team leader to look up to with his high-speed work ethic.
Aidan Duerig | OL | 6’5 298lbs | Mt. Carmel | Class of 2023 | @AidenDuerig
Aidan has some major agility for his size. Quick off the snap and intense punches that allow him to take control of the defender quickly. Duerig will be a name to remember as he develops over the next two seasons. I enjoyed watching his reps at the showcase and witnessing the violent intensity he brings to the game, I look forward to catching a few of his games this fall. With his size and assumed growth in the gym, if he commits to some further weight training, I see Aidan making a large impact at some bigger schools in the future.
Other names to be aware of that caught my eye were:
Keontay Taylor | OL | 6'0 303lbs | Phillips | Class of 2022 | @keontaytaylor4
Tyler Torterich | OL | 6'2 251lbs | Plainfield North | Class of 2023 | @TortorichTyler
Jose Manning | OL | 6’2 315lbs | Simeon Career Academy | @TheReal_Manning
