This past Saturday I took a road trip out to Crown Point Indiana for our Prep Redzone IL/IN showcase. We had college coaches in attendance to take a look at 2022, 2023, and 2024 talents that came to play. It was a great showcase with athletes from Illinois and Indiana competing against one another, with that being said here are the WR Combine Standouts.

<em>Q</em><em>uentin Spencer 22’ Wheaton Warrenville South 5’9 174 <a href="https://twitter.com/Q_Spencer1">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Spencer had a good showing during the combine testing where he clocked in a 4.78 & 4.69 40-yard dash. He furthered this performance getting his best time of 4.65 during the shuttle run, 9’6 broad jump, and completing the L-Drill in 7.4 seconds. This also translated to one on ones where he continued to make contested catches and making the catch through contact showcasing his receiving skills.

<em>Thomas Skokna 22’ Hinsdale Central 5’8 152 <a href="https://twitter.com/TSkokna">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Skokna was able to clock in a 4.75 & 4.56 40-yard dash during the combine testing. He continued this performance by clocking in a 4.43 shuttle run, 9’4 broad jump & running the L-Drill in 7.35 seconds. Mr. Skokna has the speed to win the deep route by taking the top off of the opposing defense, he’s a smaller receiver but is shifty in his play and can change directions quickly.
<img class=" wp-image-144053 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/05/Jake-Fieldman-DSC_5943-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="106" height="159" />
<em>Jake Fieldman 22’ Joliet Catholic Academy 5’11 172 <a href="https://twitter.com/FieldmanJake">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Fieldman completed the 40-yard dash with times of 5.03 & 4.94 seconds. His showing really came to light by running the shuttle in 4.57 seconds, completing a broad jump of 9’8, and completing the L-Drill in 7.22 seconds. Mr. Fieldman can change direction quickly without losing a ton of speed in the process. His speed isn’t going to beat you deep but his ability to stop on a dime and accelerate back to top speed quickly is what’s deadly about this player.
<img class=" wp-image-144013 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/05/Blake-Schuette-DSC_5878-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="130" height="195" />
<em>Blake Schuette 23’ St Charles East 5’11 166 <a href="https://twitter.com/SchuetteBlake">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Schuette clocked in a 4.88 & 4.81 in the 40-yard dash. He completed the shuttle in 4.59 seconds, had a broad jump of 9’2, and ran the L-Drill in 7.31 seconds to top it off. Mr. Schuette is another player that can change direction quickly without losing a ton of speed in the process. He has quick acceleration to him which helps him get a step on his defender, his ability to come to a complete stop then get back to full speed in an instant is what’s impressive about this young man.
<img class=" wp-image-144054 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/05/Jake-Metze-DSC_6065-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="126" height="189" />
<em>Jake Metze 23’ Johnsburg 5’8 138 <a href="https://twitter.com/Jake_Metze13">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Metze clocked in a 4.87 & 4.82 40-yard dash. His showing really came to light by running the shuttle in 4.38 seconds, completing a broad jump of 10’2, and completing the L-Drill in 7.28 seconds. Mr. Metze had the most impressive shuttle run showcasing how dominant he is at changing direction without losing much speed in the process of doing so. His broad jump is off the charts and his L-Drill time was one of the best on the day. Young player but a name to keep an eye on as he develops further.
<img class=" wp-image-144109 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/05/TJ-McWilliams-DSC_5824-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="120" height="180" />
<em>[player_tooltip player_id="107235" first="TJ" last="McWilliams"] 23’ North Central 6’1 158 <a href="https://twitter.com/TJMcwilliams9">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. McWilliams ran the 40-yard dash in 4.93 & 4.72 seconds. He clocked in a 4.97 for the shuttle, had a broad jump of 10’5, and completed the L-Drill in 7.69 seconds. Mr. McWilliams had the best broad jump on the day with a 10’5 followed with a second attempt of 10’. The explosiveness transitioned into one on ones as he was able to burst off of the line of scrimmage to get a step on the defender. Another young athlete to keep an eye on as he develops further.
<img class=" wp-image-144092 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/05/Pat-Clacks-third-DSC_6041-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="123" height="185" />
<em>[player_tooltip player_id="141108" first="Pat" last="Clacks"] 24’ Andrean 6’2 172 <a href="https://twitter.com/ClacksPat">Twitter</a></em>
Mr. Clacks completed the shuttle in 4.78 seconds, had a broad jump of 10’1, and completed the L-Drill in 7.68 seconds. Mr. Clacks had a dominant broad jump of 10’1 and as a freshman that’s impressive. His explosiveness is something to keep an eye on as he develops further and it transitioned well into one on ones where he was high pointing the ball to make contested catches in tight coverage.
<img class=" wp-image-144100 alignright" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/05/Ryan-Usher-DSC_5945-200x300.jpg" alt="" width="114" height="171" />
[player_tooltip player_id="142607" first="Ryan" last="Usher"] 24’ Lincoln-Way East 5’11 165 <a href="https://twitter.com/ryanusher22"><em>Twitter</em></a>
Mr. Usher clocked in a 4.69 & 4.62 in the 40-yard dash. He completed the shuttle in 4.82 seconds, had a broad jump of 9’3, and completed the L-Drill in 7.47 seconds. Mr. Usher had a dominant showing clocking in a 4.62 40 time and as a freshman that’s impressive. He has the speed to take the top off of the defense on deep routes and isn’t afraid to make contested catches either. A very young player that has a high ceiling and is a name to know heading into the fall.
