With 39 athletes making up the original list, we have added 61 athletes to the list on this go around. The state of Arkansas has another deep class coming up through the ranks and the potential is there for this group to be a special one in the years to come. Let’s put a spotlight on some players that will become familiar names over the next few years.
Quincy Rhodes Jr-Linebacker-Jacksonville
With a spring of performance camps and impressive tape to go along with-it Rhodes Jr. enters the Prep RedZone rankings. At 6-5 and 250-pounds he does an impressive job of fighting off of blocks and getting into the offensive backfield. He does a good job of identifying the ball carrier and making a play on the football. Rhodes Jr. is athletic enough to play the tight end position for the Titans and has the hands to play that position well. Rhodes Jr. has the potential to be one of the elite players in the class of 2023 and he should continue to move up the rankings.
Matt Colvin Matt Colvin 6'3" | 275 lbs | OL Clarksville | 2023 State AR -Offensive Line-Clarksville
The offensive line class for 2023 has the potential to be an extremely talented one for the state of Arkansas. Colvin has quick feet, and he uses them well to explode out of his stance and get into the opposing defensive linemen. He has a good mix of power and speed and uses it well. Colvin plays with a mean streak and will drive the opposing defensive lineman into the ground when given the opportunity. Scouts are going to want to start keeping tabs on Colvin, he has the speed and strength needed to play at the division one record in the next few years.
Caden Mimms Caden Mimms 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Cabot | 2023 State AR -Linebacker-Cabot
The Cabot Panthers have one of the most talented linebackers in the state of Arkansas in the class of 2023 in the form of Caden Mimms Caden Mimms 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Cabot | 2023 State AR . At 6-3 and 220-pounds, the Cabot linebacker has the size that appeals to scouts. What is impressive is just how quickly Mimms gets into the backfield. Mimms forces the opposing offensive line to account for him. He can just completely disrupt the opponent’s rushing game with his speed. Mimms is a versatile player, having received carries on the offensive side of the ball. He is going to be another player to keep an eye. The potential is there to be a special player.
DaMari Smith DaMari Smith 6'0" | 160 lbs | WR Fort Smith Northside | 2023 State AR -Wide Receiver-Fort Smith Northside
The Northside Grizzly has shown that he has terrific speed through track and field events this season. Smith uses that speed well to create separation from opposing defensive backs in his route running. Smith has the hands needed to be a consistent target for his quarterback. He gives the Grizzlies a deep threat and someone that they can rely on to make a tough reception. Northside has a talented receiving corps, and they will be a team to watch this season. Smith has the potential be another talented wide receiver that division one scouts are going to want to take a long hard look at this season.
Allen Thomason Allen Thomason 6'5" | 255 lbs | OL Pulaski Academy | 2023 State AR -Offensive Line-Pulaski Academy
Thomason is an offensive lineman that has excellent quickness. He explodes out of his stance and uses his hands well to get into the opposing defensive linemen. Thomason protects the passer well and uses his speed to keep the opponent off-balance. He is 6-5 and 255-pounds. Thomason has the frame to support more weight. He has the strength to be a problem for opposing defensive linemen now and he has the potential to play on Saturdays at a high level. Scouts need to pay a visit to Pulaski Academy and take a look at Thomason. They will not be disappointed!
