Colby Collison Colby Collison 6'3" | 185 lbs | QB Bondurant-Farrar | 2023 State IA , QB, C/O 2023, 6’3, 185, hudl, Twitter
Collison already has the frame, physical tools, and a solid foundation of Quarterback play. He has a very high ceiling and with his strong arm and accurate, well-timed delivery can become one of the state’s best. Collison is consistent and shows flashes of elite play; over time opposing teams will have their hands very full.
Boone
Landon Davis, RB, C/O 2023, 5’6, 170, hudl, Twitter
Davis is so versatile and can plug right into pivotal roles across formations. He follows and cuts incredibly well off of blocks in a loaded backfield, shows a ton of patience behind spread zone schemes, and is a weapon in motion and on screens from the slot out of empty. Davis has a big skill set and is always able to find daylight.
Jayden Angle Jayden Angle 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Boone | 2022 IA , LB/TE, C/O 2022, 6’3, 220, hudl, Twitter
Angle is virtually unblockable in the box and uses exceptionally quick hands and feet to defeat Offensive Linemen. He plays with excellent pad level and reduces surface area, especially when saddling, flexing, or blitzing. Angle is a game wrecker in the middle, but has the athletic skill set to play any of the Linebacker positions.
Carlisle
Archer Ogbourne, DB, C/O 2022, 5’9, 170, hudl, Twitter
Ogbourne covers a ton of ground from Safety and gets to plays most can’t with really impressive instincts, awareness, and speed. He shows high end play by doing things like splitting vertical routes or getting to the corner route against a smash concept. Ogbourne is a force against the run and can halt ball carriers in their tracks.
Jonathan Dunn, RB, C/O 2022, 5’11, 190, hudl, Twitter
Dunn is so difficult to get to the ground; he is expertly shifty and subtle shifting gears in traffic and has the ability to run the best tacklers right over. He is an every down back who excels in each criteria of the job description. Dunn’s ability to burst into daylight and break away from pursuit is electric and second to none.
Kahle Rattray, OL/DL, C/O 2022, 6’1, 215, hudl, Twitter
Rattray is a tough, throwback Lineman who executes on both sides of the ball with tremendous discipline. He takes excellent angles with precise hand placement on offense to steer and drive opponents away from the ball. Rattray can play the edge or inside gaps on defense and locks out and squeezes impressively.
Indianola
Carter Erickson, LB/WR, C/O 2022, 6’1, 195, hudl, Twitter
Erickson offers a lot of versatility from Outside Linebacker as someone who can provide tight coverage, toughness at the line of scrimmage, and heavy pressure off the edge. He is a spark plug on defense who can seize momentum. Erickson is also a huge vertical threat at Wide Receiver and an expert at getting behind coverage.
Jacob Lundberg, LB, C/O 2022, 6’1, 185, hudl, Twitter
Lundberg is a certified tackling machine who does an outstanding job of diagnosing plays and flying to the ball. He plays with great hips evidenced by how he plays below the belly of blockers and launches through his tackles. Lundberg can play downhill or sideline to sideline and finishes plays with textbook technique and a bang.
Walker Whalen, DE, C/O 2022, 6’3, 210, hudl, Twitter
Whalen does a really impressive job of reacting and attacking; he plays Defensive Line the right way. He differentiates pressure and adjusts his steps and leverage accordingly while staying square. Whalen also appears to know how to read angles in pass sets and distinguish man vs zone protection, which shows a lot of maturity.
Kael Kolarik, RB, C/O 2022, 6’0, 205, hudl, Twitter
Kolarik has the straight line speed to rival anyone and if there is daylight to be had he is going to get to it. He maintains speed through cuts and changes of a direction, which makes him so hard to track and tackle. Kolarik runs with such a strong center of gravity, moves within his frame, and has the ability to create.
Norwalk
Dillon Ranck Dillon Ranck 6'3" | 190 lbs | WR Norwalk Highschool | 2023 State IA , WR, C/O 2023, 6’3, 180, hudl, Twitter
Ranck is smooth and fluid through breaks and changes of direction in his routes; he can shake man coverage and split zones. He makes plenty of wide open catches, but positions himself really well to keep defenders away when coverage is tight. Ranck has plenty of moves to pick up yards after the catch and is tough on contact.
Landon Hochstein, QB, C/O 2023, 6’3, 195, hudl, Twitter
Hochstein is very poised and patient for a young Quarterback who makes good decisions and can win with his legs. He can let it rip on underneath or crossing routes and puts balls on great trajectories downfield. Hochstein has the measurables and mechanics to make a big name for himself on Friday nights and in recruiting.
Maddux Borcherding Johnson, DL, C/O 2023, 6’3, 285, hudl, Twitter
Johnson takes up so much space on the inside gaps with his size and fundamentals; he gets a ton of squeeze and knockback against run blocks. His lateral quickness and speed through disengaging from blocks is noteworthy for his size. Johnson commands double teams, knows how to pressure the pocket, and plays with a motor.
Perry
Gavin Hegstrom, LB, C/O 2023, hudl, Twitter
Hegstrom plays with an extra ounce of effort and determination that is present on film. He often deals with lots of traffic on his way to the ball, but still gets there making accurate reads and using violent hands. Hegstrom blitzes, fits, and flows very well; he has the athleticism to bounce around alignment and be a stopgap for his team.
