If you haven’t seen the talent over at North Cobb, you need to go check it out. After an outstanding 2020 season where they went 10-2, the Warriors are back and looking for blood this fall. They are loaded with talent, have one of the state’s top QBs leading them, have one of the top defenders in North Georgia, and a new weapon at receiver.
Even with one of the toughest schedule’s in the county, North Cobb has the talent, experience, and coaching needed to push for a 7A state championship this fall.
Here are a few North Cobb Warriors to know about for the upcoming season...
[player_tooltip player_id="95161" first="De’Nylon" last="Morrissette"]
One of the top wide-outs in the entire country, the big 6-foot-2 197-pounder is one of the biggest playmakers in the state. He’s an incredibly smooth route-runner and shows exceptional body control and ball skills. He’ll be tough to stop for just about every defensive back he goes up against. He’ll be playing against some future D1 defensive backs when he lines up against Buford, Milton, North Gwinnett, and just about everyone else, but he has the size, speed, and hands to make plays against anyone. He can get behind the secondary deep down the field, and he has the ability to hurt defenses in the screen game as well. The future Georgia Bulldog had a big year for the Brookwood Broncos as a junior last year where he caught 63 passes for 824 yards and 7 touchdowns. Look for him to be one of the state’s leading receivers in 2020
[player_tooltip player_id="34008" first="Malachi" last="Singleton"]
One of the top 2023 QBs in the country, Singleton is a true dual-threat QB who can really hurt defenses with his legs. He’s still developing as a passer, but he’s getting better and better with each practice. He runs the North Cobb offense well, throws the ball well on the run, and is improving his accuracy each and every day. He still has a lot of potential as a passer, but his ability to make plays with his feet have made him tough to deal with so far in his career. As a sophomore last year, the 6-foot-2 210-pounder went 127/193 for 1,619 yards and 15 TDs. On the ground, Singleton carried the ball 191 times for 1,091 yards and 17 more TDs. He played with a lot of toughness last year and was as physical as it gets as a runner. He was named 3-AAAAAA Offensive Player of the Year, and if his arm continues to develop over the next few months, he could see his ranking climb more and more in the 2023 rankings. He currently holds offers from Georgia, Miami, Georgia Tech, Central Florida, among others.
Joshua Joesephs
If there’s one 2022 defender in North Georgia who could add a TON of more offers soon, it’s Josephs. The big linebacker/Edge defender is extremely long in the arms and has a great frame at 6-foot-4 230-pounds and he’s still adding more weight and muscle. Once college coaches see him in person, more offers could come his way. He already holds offers from Penn State, Michigan, Tennessee, and Arizona State, but some bigger schools could be calling very soon. He’s an outstanding pass rusher due to his length and explosiveness off the edge, but he’ll also have an opportunity to play some on offense as well in certain situations. He’s an intimidating defender and coming off a big junior season where he terrorized the QB on a weekly basis.
