Georgia is full of prospects that can succeed at different levels of the collegiate game. With so many prospects, some fantastic talents go under the radar. Throughout our Georgia’s Hidden Gems series we are going to highlight talented prospects with under 15 offers. Let’s take a look at the four talented prospects for part 1.
[player_tooltip player_id="34078" first="Marquis" last="Hood"], DL, Class of 2023, Decatur Hood is a great young talent, whose play stands out on both sides of the ball. He plays with a high motor, constantly getting in the backfield. Last season he had 38 tackles, 11.0 tackles for a loss, and 9.0 sacks. He pressures the quarterback well. At 6’2” and 235 pounds he possesses great lower body strength which helps him standup ball carriers. Hood maintains his gap assignment, quickly hammering ball carriers as they try to go through holes. Hood displays a great burst in pursuit. On offense, he is a wrecking ball running back. Hood hits like a truck, making him very hard for defenders to stand up or bring down. He has deceptive speed and can pull away from defenders if they aren’t careful. Hood can stop and go well to make defenders miss. While he is trending towards being an edge rusher at the next level, he shows the traits of a good goal line back. With two seasons left to improve on his game we are confident that he is on his way to playing at the collegiate level. Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="33952" first="Dialo" last="Mosley"], LB,Class of 2022, Carver Mosley is an amazing, well rounded linebacker from the Atlanta area. Mosley can play inside or outside. Mosley impresses defending the run and pass. His instincts are good, he picks up on plays quickly. Flys downhill. He plays with great physicality and hits with a ton of force. This past season, Mosley recorded 127 total tackles, 84 solo tackles, and 11.0 tackles for a loss in 11 games. His amazing reaction time flashes when playing run support or in coverage. He has a good understanding of coverages and is very comfortable defending the curl to flat zone. He also does a great job covering the middle of the field, challenging quarterbacks to throw their receivers open. Mosley’s quickness and overall speed help him move around the field swiftly. He is a good open field tackler, lowers his shoulders well. He uses his hands well to rip through blockers and slow down ball carriers. Mosley has the traits to be a great collegiate linebacker. Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="134009" first="DJ" last="Moore"], WR, Class of 2022, Archer Moore is a fantastic playmaking wide receiver. Moore gets into his routes quickly, he creates consistent separation. Moore has dynamic speed and excels against man coverage. He stretches defenses. Moore has impressive ball skills and tracks the ball extremely well down the field. He has strong hands and catches the ball naturally. Moore can make big catches from time to time. He is excellent with the ball in his hands, capable of taking it to the house. Improving his footwork could help his route running and make him a more versatile threat. Moore has good short area quickness. He displays good burst after changing direction or when pulling away from defenders. Moore can make defenders miss in the openfield. His speed and burst make him a threat when running jet sweeps. He has the skill set to be a dominant force in the screen game. At the Atlanta Under Armour Camp, Moore ran a 4.51 40-yard dash, a 4.26 short shuttle, and a 33-inch vertical. Moore is capable of being a legit deep threat on the collegiate level. Highlights [player_tooltip player_id="34017" first="Lucian" last="Anderson III"], QB, Class of 2023, Prince Avenue Christian Anderson is a promising young quarterback with great upside. He is an excellent thrower of the football and has exceptional ball placement. He has a nice release and gets the ball out quickly. He looks like a modern quarterback who moves well. Anderson moves the pocket very well. He looks very comfortable in the pocket. Anderson maintains good accuracy on the run and outside the pocket. Anderson has a strong arm and can fit the ball into tight windows. He is capable of making all the throws, displaying good short, intermediate, and deep accuracy. He throws with good anticipation. Anderson will give his receivers a chance to make plays on the ball. As he continues to grow and put on weight, he should develop into a size ideal for the collegiate game. He is a quick decision maker and does not hold onto the ball for too long. Anderson is a must watch prospect this upcoming season, he has the ability to play his way into being one of the top prospects in his class. Highlights
