Anaya was a clear target for QB [player_tooltip player_id="42783" first="Nicco" last="Marchiol"], as he led Hamilton in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TD’s during his junior campaign. He had an impressive night in the state championship vs Chandler where he hauled in a couple athletic catches. He primarily lined up in the slot for Hamilton, and frequently generated separation. He’s a solid route runner overall and tracks the ball in well. He possesses soft hands with solid body control. Anaya did a great job at picking up yards and getting upfield after the catch, frequently getting to the sticks, showing good field awareness. He shows good top end speed in space and should be more of a vertical threat as well this upcoming season. With the departure of [player_tooltip player_id="42637" first="Brady" last="Shough"], Anaya will be a clear WR1 for Marchiol and the Hamilton offense. He currently holds an FCS offer from Northern Colorado, and should see more offers come in soon.

<span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong>Defensive Spotlight</strong></span>
<strong>Frankie Viera</strong>, <em>LB/SS, 5’10" 200lbs, Desert Vista HS ’22<img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-136303" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/04/PRZ-Generic-Gray-300x187.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="187" /></em>
<em>Film: <a href="https://www.hudl.com/profile/11097581/Francisco-Viera">https://www.hudl.com/profile/11097581/Francisco-Viera</a></em>
Viera comes off a very short junior campaign due to COVID complications at Cesar Chavez High School. Viera recently transferred to Desert Vista from Cesar Chavez, where he joins a very talented group over at DV. He’s an excellent all-around athlete on the defensive side of the ball, as he can roam the field and make plays anywhere. He diagnoses plays well when lined up in the box, and possesses solid closing speed as a tackler with a good POA to blow up plays. He displays good short area quickness to slip through small gaps in the OL during blitz packages and is a menace in the backfield. Viera has shown the ability to man up on the slot and he shows excellent physicality at the LOS to jam them up, making it difficult for them to get a release. With a full season, Viera projects to put up strong numbers and is a great addition to the Desert Vista defense.
