Never before have the stakes been higher for kickers and punters. The National Football League now makes the special teams (kicking, punting and long snapping) a major priority – as you saw recently when two long snappers and a kicker went in the draft. Long considered as a position where you can pick prospects up as free agents, the specialists have become so vital to teams that they are no longer considered as an add-on to a team. They are often the centerpiece of many football programs. Because we have given you more kickers and punters to watch than any other source, we understand how important the position is, and we continue to travel and see some of the nation’s elite right here in our own backyard.
