We have worked around the clock as a staff putting these rankings together for you. It takes a village of people and much of the credit can be given to our very own Tom Tabler and our editors at the Prep Redzone headquarters. Here are some of the top junior running backs to keep your eye out for next season.
[player_tooltip player_id="75128" first="Darien" last="Bennett"] | 6’2" 195 lbs | Jacksonville
Taking our NO.1 spot is big running back Darien Bennet. At 6’2 he towers over most people. This means he can trample over most defenders and make his way into the endzone. He is a versatile back with great size and holds an early offer from Arkansas. Which experts think Darien will ultimately sign with the Razorbacks.
[player_tooltip player_id="91974" first="Hudson" last="Brewer"] | 6’2" 190 lbs | Har-Ber
Another big running back in Brewer. Brewer had a very impressive sophomore season rushing for over 1,500 yards on 245 carries, averaging 6.4 yards and racking up 16 touchdowns. I love his size and build and think he is a good FBS type of prospect with a high ceiling in college.
[player_tooltip player_id="75132" first="Willie" last="Eackles"] | 5’11" 175 lbs | Little Rock Parkview
Willie is a very athletic and versatile player on the field who can play multiple positions. He’s got lighting speed and quickness and runs a 4.5 40 yard dash. I think he is only going to get bigger / faster as time goes on. He should be a prospect to keep an eye out for next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="75136" first="Garrion" last="Curry"] | 5’9" 180 lbs | Magnolia
Curry is a track star as well as on the football field. Magnolia has a loaded backfield and Curry should be given more of a workload this coming up the season and could prove himself to be a prospect to know about.
[player_tooltip player_id="75143" first="Josh" last="Ficklin"] | 5’10" 195 lbs | Bentonville
In 2020 Josua had over 1,700 all-purpose yards with 17 touchdowns. He’s got blazing speed and great balance as a runner. Shows he can stay on his feet after contact and has the speed to burn the defense, leave them in the dust, and put six points up on the scoreboard. A terrific athlete that can make some big plays happen.
