We take a look today at some of the top defensive backs in the state of the class of 2023. Everyone has heard of the saying "defense wins championships" well some could say that to have a champion-caliber team you must have good defensive backs that can take away the passing game. One school, in particular, has two DBs that made our top ten list. Not surprisingly to anyone that it is powerhouse DeSoto. The 6ft Martin DB was named district 8-6A Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2020. Also had 41 tackles, 11 PBU’s, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery. Javien holds 20 division 1 offers from schools like Alabama, Texas A&M, and Tennessee to name a few. The North Shore Mustang DB is at the top of a lot of well-respected Universities. In 2020 was named the District 21-6A Co-Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore.
