We take a look today at some of the top defensive backs in the state of the class of 2023. Everyone has heard of the saying "defense wins championships" well some could say that to have a champion-caliber team you must have good defensive backs that can take away the passing game. One school, in particular, has two DBs that made our top ten list. Not surprisingly to anyone that it is powerhouse DeSoto. So let us take a look at who all made the list.

Javien is our NO.1 ranked corner in the state and for good reason. The 6ft Martin DB was named district 8-6A Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2020. Also had 41 tackles, 11 PBU’s, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery. Javien holds 20 division 1 offers from schools like Alabama, Texas A&M, and Tennessee to name a few. The North Shore Mustang DB is at the top of a lot of well-respected Universities. In 2020 was named the District 21-6A Co-Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore. The powerhouse should prove to have some of the best lockdown corners in the state on defense for years to come. They should be scary good and everyone knows the saying "defense wins championships".
