After spending some time on the offensive side of the ball in part three of the series. We are going to transition back to putting a mix of the offensive and the defensive side of the ball. The 7-A West has plenty of talent on the defensive side of the ball. In terms of talent, the defensive side of the ball may have more talent than the offensive side of the ball. However, the offensive side will not disappoint with the talent level. Now back to our look at the 2022 prospects in the 7-A West.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="93064" first="Ariel" last="Bradic"]-Linebacker-Bentonville West</strong>
Bradic is an extremely quick middle linebacker that patrols the middle of the field for the Wolverines. Bradic has displayed good coverage skills and shows the speed to be able to stick with opposing tight ends and backs out of the backfield. At 5-8 and 165-pounds Bradic does an impressive of stepping up to fill the rushing lanes. Bradic plays with a chip on his shoulder and always seems to be around the football. Bradic has the potential to have a solid season for the Wolverines and will give the Bentonville West coaching staff a player to rely upon on the defensive side of the ball.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75075" first="Kaiden" last="Turner"]-Linebacker-Fayetteville</strong>
The Indiana Hoosiers’ commit is one of the best linebackers in the state of Arkansas and leads one of the most dangerous linebacking corps. Turner is all over the field for the Bulldogs and he is always around the football. Over the past few years, he has done a terrific job of being able to drop back into coverage and make a play on the football. Turner is a sure tackler and plays with good speed and he should have a strong season in 2021. The Fayetteville linebacker should earn All-State honors and continue to attract the attention of the college scouts.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75074" first="Jack" last="Struebing"]-Offensive Line-Springdale Har-Ber</strong>
The Har-Ber Wildcat center has picked up seven scholarship offers and from some powerhouse division one programs for a good reason. Struebing is an excellent offensive lineman. He is quick out of the stance and he gets into the opposing defensive lineman quickly. While he has terrific foot speed, scouts should not overlook how strong he is. Struebing leads what should be another solid Har-Ber offensive line. The Har-Ber offensive line excels in the run blocking and this should be a year the Wildcats have an excellent rushing attack. Keep an eye on Struebing, he has the potential to have a terrific college career.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="96684" first="Nic" last="Thompson"]-Defensive Line/Tight End-Springdale</strong>
Versatility is the name of the game for [player_tooltip player_id="96684" first="Nic" last="Thompson"]. Thompson is incredibly productive along the defensive line. From an offensive perspective, Thompson has blocked extremely well for the Bulldogs rushing attack. At 6-0 tall he gives the Springdale quarterbacks a target in the red zone and someone to look at on key third down situations. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, Thompson racked 28 tackles, four tackles for loss, and three quarterback hurries. Thompson is a player to watch on both sides of the ball and he has the talent to play on Saturdays and the scouts will want to keep an eye on Thompson.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="135265" first="Dmitri" last="Lloyd"]-Tight End/Defensive Line-Fort Smith Southside</strong>
Lloyd is a versatile player that has somehow managed to stay under the radar, up to this point. Lloyd plays all over the field for the Mavericks. However, the 6-1 and 230-pound prospect is a threat in the passing game. Lloyd has good speed, and he can take it the distance from anywhere on the field. He has shown that he has good hands and is a red zone target for the Maverick. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, Lloyd uses that speed to create havoc in the opposing offensive backfield. Lloyd has the potential to blow up this season from a recruiting perspective.
