Quarterbacks from 3A Region 1 to Keep An Eye on in 2021

There are some very good prospects and several sleeper prospects that should all be getting looks for the next level. Prep Redzone Florida will always promote everybody in hopes of them getting the opportunity of playing college football at the next level.</span></strong></em></span></p> &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; <p id="E17" class="x-scope qowt-word-para-0"><em><strong><span id="E18" class="qowt-font1-Arial">Cole Gonzales- Trinity Catholic</span></strong></em></p> <p id="E21" class="x-scope qowt-word-para-0"><em><strong><span id="E22" class="qowt-font1-Arial">6’1 175lbs</span></strong></em></p> <p id="E25" class="x-scope qowt-word-para-0"><span id="E26" class="qowt-font1-Arial">Gonzalez had a nice season leading Trinity Catholic to a 7-4 record, is a dual-threat athlete that passed for 846 yards and eight touchdowns, and also rushed for 254 yards and two touchdowns this past season. Has very good footwork and gets into his set up extremely quick and throws nice accurate balls. Gonzales is a quarterback that has breakaway speed, good vision and athleticism. Shows good arm strength and nice touch on his deep balls. Gonzales was invited to compete in the Elite 11 </span>regional<span style="font-size: 1rem;"> this spring. He currently has one offer from UT Martin. As a runner he’s powerful, shows quick feet, and has good speed (4.7 40) and is strong through contact. He does a good job at buying time in the pocket can keeping his eyes downfield, he has a strong arm and needs to continue to work on his mechanics to help improve accuracy, but he does show nice deep touch and passing ability. He has a nice arm and shows it throwing deep slants with zip, and accuracy on timing patterns. Dies a good job in recognizing coverages and knows where to go with the football. He also seems to be a pretty good athlete and throws on the run with zip and accuracy.
