QB’s across Washington have put up some impressive numbers according to the public stat lists. In a very strange COVID season, these guys showcased their ability to sling the rock, and have promising futures down the road. McDonald has thrown for 2,162 yards and 27 TD’s in just 7 games played, and continues to have big time performances every week. He is averaging around 300 yards per game and is absolutely torching defenses. He shows very fluid footwork in the pocket and stands tall with solid poise and a good demeanor. He has shown the ability to hit all 3 levels of throws, and does a great job throwing with touch when needed. He can do a better job of ball security as he has 10 INT’s on the year, but he holds a big upside going forward. The Western Kentucky commit made a statement his senior year.

Johnson threw for 1,515 yards and 18 TD’s in 6 games played. He is one of the best dual-threat QB’s on the west coast and proves it every week. When he stays in the pocket, he is calm and poised. He delivers with a fluid throwing motion with solid placement on all throws. He senses pressure well and does a great job toying with the defense to set up a throw or pick up yards on the ground. He extends plays well and delivers accurate balls on the move in both directions. Johnson is shifty in space with big play ability and is going to be fun to watch the next few years.

Holcomb threw for 1,342 yards and 16 TD’s in just 6 games played. He sizes up with a long frame and is a big time gunslinger. He shows a good pre-snap read and seems to know where he’s going with the ball when he identifies coverages. He shows solid timing with his receivers with the ability to use velocity or touch. He has great arm strength as he can let it fly downfield, and has shown the ability to hit receivers in stride or throw them open. <strong>Monte Pettichord</strong>, <em>5’11" 175lbs, Waitsburg HS ’23</em>
Pettichord threw for 1,216 yards and 18 total touchdowns in 6 games played. He did a god job extending plays and throwing on the run and frequently finds receivers downfield. He threw well out of play action as he was able to get the ball out quick on slants and screens.He stills has areas to improve such as pocket fluidity and mechanics and ball security as he threw 9 INT’s, but should grow and mature into his potential in the upcoming years.

Esary can make you pay from the air or on the ground. He totals 1,169 yards passing with 10 TD’s, and has racked up 694 yards rushing with 3 TD’s. He sizes up with a good frame and shows a good pre-snap read to identify WR-DB mismatches. He has shown the ability to hit all 3 levels of throws with timing, and can use touch or velocity when needed. He’s a threat on the ground as he can weave his way through opponents with good top end speed for big play ability as he busted numerous big runs. Esary holds a high ceiling and is definitely an FBS level prospect to get on your radar if he’s not already.
