It is special to see players who have insane potential put up big numbers and have big seasons. The Class of 2022 has some key players who are lighting up the field with their throwing and running abilities behind center. The numbers speak for themselves for these young quarterbacks who are looking to move onward with their careers. Here is an inside look at three of the state’s QB prospects:
Willy Roberts Willy Roberts 5'11" | 200 lbs | QB Mountain View | 2022 State AZ , 6’0″ 195lbs, JR, Mountain View High School, Mesa, AZ
Roberts has a solid frame with great athleticism. He has been playing varsity ball since he was a freshman and has grown into a great leader for Mountain View High School. He put up fantastic numbers in his quick 4 game junior year, ending the season with 877 yards and 6 TD’s, averaging 1.5 TD’s a game. Willy brings accuracy with power and makes sure the ball goes where it needs to. Roberts also has strong running ability with great movement up and down the field. He is a strong quarterback and can be that guy for a program at the next level. Willy is a stud athlete, also playing baseball and showcasing his versatility between the two sports.
Brayten Silbor Brayten Silbor 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Chaparral | 2022 State AZ , 6’3″ 195lbs, JR, Chaparral High School, Scottsdale, AZ
Silbor is a great QB for Chaparral High, demonstrating his throwing abilities since sophomore year. Brayten had a fantastic junior season capping it off with 2,348 yards and 18 TD’s, averaging 2.3 TD’s per game. He has been showing off insane running skills pulling off solid yardage through lots of fakes. His rushing is huge for the offense, finishing with almost 6 yards per carry on the season. Silbor has the right skill and height to be a collegiate quarterback, gaining interest from big schools such as Harvard, Northern Arizona, Colorado, Colorado State, and Pennsylvania.
Jack Benson Jack Benson 6'4" | 180 lbs | QB Arcadia | 2022 AZ , 6’4″ 175lbs, JR, Arcadia High School, Phoenix, AZ
Jack is dynamite under center and is a big leader on the offense. He knows how to dart the ball into the right hands. Benson shows the ability to sit in the pocket and utilize his offense to make plays. He ended his junior year with an impressive 1,700 yards and 14 TD’s, averaging 1.8 TD’s per game. Benson is a classic QB slinging the football deep down the field with style. He has a strong arm and has a knack for connecting with his receivers. He also displays his versatility with his running game, pulling off a scramble that turned into an 11-yard rush against Combs High School. Benson will be a big player in the next level with his size, versatility, and gameplay in the pocket.
