Film Eval: “Prospect Index” Submissions Part 3

The Prospect Index for PrepRedzone has been the quickest way a prospect can get evaluated and ranked. We have had a TON of submissions so far, so thank you to everybody who has contributed! Any time somebody submits their profile, it gives us more tape to watch, which is never a bad thing. Today, we will be evaluating some of the most recent Prospect Index submissions. [player_tooltip player_id="131627" first="Ahmorrian" last="Ellis"] | 2022 DL | Port Gibson At 6’3" 265, Ellis has the prototypical frame for a college defensive lineman. The Port Gibson standout anchors the defensive line and rotates between playing inside and outside. He has good initial burst off the ball and can get in the backfield before teams know what is going on. Ellis wins with his athleticism and strength. He has a relatively strong upper body that allows him to bull rush well, but can also use his natural speed to bend off the edge. Raw prospect with a ton of upside. Currently lists offers from Pearl River and A&M Corpus Christi. [player_tooltip player_id="119666" first="Jeremiah" last="Ratliff"] | 2022 WR | McComb On a loaded McComb offense, Ratliff plays the inside receiver role. Ratliff is crazy fast and can generate separation between himself and defenders with ease. He tracks the ball well downfield and can make some pretty contested catches look easy. Ratliff is deadly after the catch and can score a touchdown from anywhere on the field. As a route runner, Ratliff has good hips and can change direction well. Super surprised nobody has gotten in on him yet. Undervalued talent set to have a big senior year. [player_tooltip player_id="126490" first="Justin" last="Davis"] | 2022 LB | Clarksdale Although he is a bit undersized at 6’2" 170, don’t be fooled - [player_tooltip player_id="126490" first="Justin" last="Davis"] plays powerful. Davis is an athletic linebacker that can play in space well. He may be destined to play a box safety or nickel role in his future. He shows his athleticism off in coverage and when he triggers and goes on run plays. Davis tackles well and can be effective as a blitzer, but his real value is in coverage. Like his potential he brings to the table. Watch for him to have a productive senior year. [player_tooltip player_id="133789" first="Kennedy" last="Baker"] | 2023 LB | Ridgeland As a young linebacker, [player_tooltip player_id="133789" first="Kennedy" last="Baker"] finished his season as his team’s 3rd leading tackler. Baker plays downhill like a traditional MIKE and can fit against the run well. He gets off blocks well and knows how to get to the ball carrier with the best route in mind. On contact, Baker is physical and delivers blows to ball carriers. He keeps his feet in the ground and hits with good form. Love his value versus the run but would like to see how he does in coverage in the future. Due for continued development as a junior. [player_tooltip player_id="128047" first="Landen" last="Sewell"] | 2023 OL | Natchez A true center, [player_tooltip player_id="128047" first="Landen" last="Sewell"] is the leader of the Natchez offensive line. He can snap well in the shotgun and gets good velocity on the ball. Sewell is a physically imposing run blocker who uses his natural strength to crush incoming defenders. He dominates whoever is across the line from him and does a nice job at working up to the second level. In pass protection, Sewell plays with a wide base and gets a good initial punch on his target. This is a hard kid to move around. Looking for him to have another good season this year. Undervalued prospect. [player_tooltip player_id="133114" first="Logan" last="Johnson"] | 2022 OL | West Lauderdale [player_tooltip player_id="133114" first="Logan" last="Johnson"] comes off a big season in 2020. The West Lauderdale product looks to be a future college guard with athleticism to play in multiple schemes. Johnson has quick and active feet and can explode off of the ball with ease. Absolutely love the nastiness and tenacity he plays with. Johnson bullies defenders into the ground using his strength and athleticism. He is agile in space and is always looking for work. Johnson already lists offers from Hinds and East Mississippi, but should continue to gather opportunities as the year goes on.
