[player_tooltip player_id="121038" first="Conner" last="Armstrong"] | 2023 QB |
[player_tooltip player_id="121038" first="Conner" last="Armstrong"] is a big time sleeper quarterback in the class of 2023. At 6’2" 220, he already has college size as a sophomore in high school. A big armed passer, Armstrong gets a ton of zip behind the ball and can rocket it downfield and into tight windows. He has the arm strength to complete deep outs across his body and deep vertical routes as well. At times, the ball looks like it is coming out at 100 MPH. This guy has all the physical talent in the world to be successful. As a runner, Armstrong is a threat to scramble and collect some yardage or pull the ball on the veer and bowl over a defender or two. His best ball is ahead of him and he will be an exciting prospect to keep track of this year. Look for him to rise soon.
[player_tooltip player_id="119353" first="Crosby" last="Mullins"] | 2023 OL |
[player_tooltip player_id="119353" first="Crosby" last="Mullins"] is an exciting road grader at Simpson Academy. While he isn’t the biggest yet at 6’3" 255, this is the type of guy you can be intrigued by early on. Mullins shows a ton of upside with his natural twitch and explosion off the ball. You can tell this guy loves football. He is mean and dominates whoever is across from him. Once he gets hands on, he will drive through contact until the defender is in the dirt. As a pass protector, Mullins has quick feet that allow him to get out in front of an edge rusher with ease. Mullins lacks a ton of upper body strength right now, but when he adds that over the remainder of his high school career, he will be a menace on the offensive line. Like this guy’s potential. Will be an interesting prospect to watch as the season rolls around.
[player_tooltip player_id="125782" first="Marvis" last="Mcdaniel"] | 2022 LB |
A traditional MIKE linebacker, [player_tooltip player_id="125782" first="Marvis" last="Mcdaniel"] stands at a stout 6’0" 220. While he isn’t the longest or tallest, this guy is a ball player. McDaniel constantly wrecks havoc in the backfield and finds easy ways to get off or around blocks to make plays. He plays fast and can do a good job running north and south. McDaniel tackles extremely well with good form. He hits hard and constantly punishes the ball carrier. McDaniel is one of the better run stuffing linebackers in the state of Mississippi. In pass coverage, he is capable of playing in a shallow zone or as a spy. Love how hard he plays and how destructive he is versus the run. Should be a riser with a big senior season.
[player_tooltip player_id="126461" first="Marcus" last="Beamon"] | 2022 QB |
Philadelphia has consistently been a factory for offensive talent over the years. [player_tooltip player_id="126461" first="Marcus" last="Beamon"] is the signal caller for the Tornadoes, but is a name that a lot of folks haven’t come across yet. He is a dual threat passer that can beat you in the air and on the ground. As a passer, Beamon has a really clean drop back in the pocket. He navigates the pocket well and can step up to deliver some really pretty throws downfield. Beamon is capable of making multilevel reads and never looks overwhelmed with pressure in his face. He throws with impressive touch and accuracy at all levels of the field, and has a quick release to make plays fast. As a runner, Beamon is capable of extending plays and throwing downfield. He is also a threat to take off for big gains on his own. Really impressive prospect with nothing going on yet. Would not be surprised to see some colleges come into play soon enough.
[player_tooltip player_id="120991" first="Kentrel" last="Caison Peters"] | 2022 DL |
Kentrel Peters is a 6’2" 230 DL prospect with versatility. While he plays edge now, it wouldn’t surprise me if his future is on the interior. He has a strong upper body and is capable of separating from offensive linemen with a bull rush move. Peters has good hustle and is constantly in pursuit of the ball. He is very efficient as a run stopper and can take on double teams decently well. As a pass rusher, Peters gets after the quarterback with good pursuit and tries to get a hit in when he can. Like this guy’s potential on the interior. Watch for him to have a big senior season.
[player_tooltip player_id="119867" first="DK" last="Jenkins"] | 2023 ATH |
[player_tooltip player_id="119867" first="DK" last="Jenkins"] is one of the more interesting prospects in Mississippi. He simply does it all for his team. This guy is a dang good high school quarterback whose future may be at another position due to his size. At 5’9" 165, Jenkins has the speed and twitch to play receiver or defensive back if he is done growing. With so much time left in high school though, the possibilities are endless. Jenkins is fast in the open field and can cut on a dime. He shows good ability to change direction and make people miss in space. As a passer, Jenkins plays with swagger and throws an accurate ball at all levels of the field. This guy will be one to keep an eye on over the upcoming year. Tons of potential to be a college prospect and a lot of time left to develop.
