If you follow high school football – and have for many years – you already understand how much talent is annually produced here in the Sunshine State.
With defensive backs and defensive ends now being hot commodities in Florida, other positions also continue to produce elite prospects every year.
As spring will begin this week, one of the classes that will be in the spotlight are the rising juniors of 2023.
We have already established – with the release of this top 100 plus that the receiver position is indeed as strong as it has been in a long time.
When we spotlighted five of the top receivers a few weeks backs, there were so many of you who asked to shine that talented spotlight on some more – so we listened.
Today, we once again pay plenty of attention to the receivers with a look at more impressive pass catchers.
[player_tooltip player_id="128032" first="Raymond" last="Cottrell"], WR, 6-3, 205, Milton. Like most elite pass catchers, here is a tremendous athlete, who is capable of also playing on the defensive side of the ball. Certainly a player that many colleges have been watching – as he grows and matures. Has speed, size, hands and is becoming a solid route runner. His work in the off-season in 7-on-7 events have made him someone who is picking up steam. Is also a gifted defensive secondary player, who covers a lot of ground and knows where to be on each play.

[player_tooltip player_id="127999" first="Nathaniel" last="Joseph"], WR, 5-10, 175, Miami Edison. Having watched this impressive student/athlete since he began playing at the varsity level as an eighth grader, there is no mistaking that this is not only one of the best in the state, but easily as solid as you will find anywhere in the country. This is an amazing football talent that is nearly impossible to cover one-on-one. Follows in the footsteps of a very athletic family. Also gets it done in the classroom.

[player_tooltip player_id="128055" first="Bryson" last="Rodgers"], WR, 6-2, 170, Wesley Chapel Wiregrass Ranch. There is no getting around the fact that the areas north of Tampa are starting to produce some quality talent. Not just the ones who are good locally, but athletes who are turning heads at the national level. Here is one of those impressive pass-catchers who bring so much to the table. Watch him play and you will be impressed at all the great things he does. Have to like a competitor like this, and colleges are already starting to take notice.

[player_tooltip player_id="20836" first="Carnell" last="Tate"], WR, 6-2, 180, Bradenton IMG Academy. Obviously, in any other year – this Chicago native would jump right to the top of the list, playing for IMG, but remember, this could be the deepest class of receivers the state has ever produced – and more pass-catchers continue to emerge. This young man is for real – and shows it on the field each and every week. Speed, size and the ability to make an impact against anyone.

[player_tooltip player_id="128043" first="Asaad" last="Waseem"], WR, 5-11, 170, Winter Garden West Orange. One look at this impressive young man will tell you a lot about this quality student/athlete. While he brings his big numbers (44 catches) with him from Wekiva, this is a true student of the game – and has been around it all of his young life. As a slot receiver, he uses his speed and athleticism to open the field up – and now with a solid quarterback and other quality weapons around him – this is going to be a special year for someone who is easily among the best in Florida for the class.
