Montgomery County was only able to have a short 3 game season with week 1 consisting of scrimmages but that doesn’t mean players didn’t stand out. There were plenty of standouts this season. This is Montgomery County’s All-County defensive team.
<strong>Defensive Line</strong>
[player_tooltip player_id="90271" first="Demeioun" last="Robinson"] Quince Orchard - Robinson is one of the top edge rushers in the entire country. He is an elite pass rusher and he also does a great job of setting the edge in the run game. Expect him to make an instant impact for Maryland in the fall.
Luke Hill Rockville- Hill is a versatile defender he has the ability to line up on the edge, slide inside, and even play off the ball. Hill was a huge part of Rockville’s defense making plays in the backfield and disrupting the offense.
Tylek Bright Seneca Valley- Bright is somebody that can line up all over the field. He is a true swiss army knife but when he lines up on the edge he uses his quickness and athleticism to get after the passer.
Daniel Santos Magruder- Santos is one of the county’s premier pass rushers. He uses his hands to get off blockers and seems to shed blocks like it’s nothing.
<strong>Linebackers</strong>
Marcel Mami Damascus- Mami has been the heart of a very feared Damascus defense for years now. Mami is a middle linebacker with sideline to sideline range. He’s one of the best run defenders in the county.
Cole Smith Churchill- Smith is a backer that loves to get downfield. He is a very physical player that makes big hits and energizes his team.
Anthony Villacis Walter Johnson- Villacis is one of the best all-around linebackers in the county. He can stop the run, he can blitz and make plays in the backfield, and he can cover as well.
Stephen Forbin Blake- Forbin is an athletic backer that excels in pass coverage. He also has incredible range for a linebacker.
<strong>Defensive Backs</strong>
[player_tooltip player_id="90392" first="Xavier" last="Ricks"] Richard Montgomery- Richard Montgomery had a tough season but Ricks still made plays. He is one of the most versatile players in the whole county and he is a real weapon on the defensive side of the ball.
[player_tooltip player_id="90593" first="Octavian" last="Smith"] Paint Branch- Smith was doing double duty as he was also playing quarterback but that didn’t stop him from being a ball hawk as a corner. He is one of the best athletes in the state and he displayed that while playing corner.
[player_tooltip player_id="90302" first="Jalen" last="Clyatt"] Sherwood- Clyatt is a ballhawk safety. He has NFL size already and with his ballhawk skills, there’s no doubt he will be a star at the next level. Eastern Carolina is getting a stud.
[player_tooltip player_id="90638" first="Jalen" last="Huskey"] Quince Orchard- Huskey transferred into Quince Orchard and he made an instant impact. Huskey is a traditional cover corner. He can play man, zone, and is able to press if needed.
