Continue ReadingIn today’s article we are going to look at some prospects in the 2023 class to keep an eye on this season. With the 2021 season on the horizon the talent in the 2023 class is impressive and has an excellent chance to make some noise this season. We are going to take a look at some players in the 2023 that have the potential to have huge seasons in 2021.
Carston Poole Carston Poole 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Prescott | 2023 State AR -Athlete-Prescott
The Prescott Curley Wolves are a talented football team, and the 2021 season should be a big one for the team. Carston Poole Carston Poole 6'2" | 180 lbs | ATH Prescott | 2023 State AR is a player that has played all over the field for the Curley Wolves. On the offensive side of the ball, Poole has played the quarterback position and played it well. He has good pocket awareness, and he does an impressive job of keeping his eyes down the field to make the throw. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, Poole has seen plenty of time at the safety position. He is not afraid to hit, and he does an excellent job of making plays on the football. Scouts should be on the lookout for Poole he has a strong arm, and his versatility makes him a valuable player for any team.
Carter Hensley Carter Hensley 6'4" | 190 lbs | QB Rogers Heritage | 2023 State AR -Quarterback-Rogers Heritage
Hensley is a quarterback that is going to force opposing defenses to not crowd the box. Last season, Hensley passed for 2,000 yards and used his legs to tack on 200 yards rushing. He has a strong arm and when he has the time to throw, he can be very accurate. An underrated portion of his game is the way he can escape the pocket and use his legs to pick up first downs. Hensley is always looking to throw the football first and he uses his legs as a last resort and when he is out of time. He is going to be a quarterback to keep an eye on over the next two years. He has the potential to be an impressive quarterback.
Matt Colvin Matt Colvin 6'3" | 275 lbs | OL Clarksville | 2023 State AR -Offensive Line-Clarksville
Colvin is one of the most talented offensive linemen in the 2023 class. He has tremendously quick feet and the Clarksville coaching staff has made great use of his versatility on the offensive line. He has played the tackle and the center position, and it would not surprise me to see him move around some on the offensive line this season. Colvin has the potential to play on Saturdays in the not-too-distant future. By the time comes for him to commit to a school he has the potential to be a beast on the offensive line with a good chance of being a division one offensive linemen.
Jaidan Strange Jaidan Strange 6'2" | 170 lbs | ATH Stuttgart | 2023 State AR -Athlete-Stuttgart
Strange sees snaps at both the quarterback and the wide receiver positions. He has terrific speed and he uses it to create separation when he is lined up at the wide receiver spot. From a quarterback perspective, he is a nightmare for opposing defensive coordinators to attempt to contain. He has the speed to escape the pocket. However, he has a strong enough arm and is accurate enough that opposing defenses can not crowd the box or bring a blitzer. Strange has the potential to explode on to the scene this and year and by his senior season he will be a familiar name in the state of Arkansas.
Walker Davis Walker Davis 6'3" | 285 lbs | OL Benton | 2023 State AR -Offensive Line-Benton
Davis is an extremely quick offensive linemen that has no problem using his quickness to get into opposing defensive linemen. However, Davis is not only a quick offensive lineman he is also a strong lineman. He has no trouble using his strengths to get to the second level and block for both running backs and wide receivers. An underrate facet of his game is his pass blocking and I have come away just solid of a pass block that he is. Davis is going to be an offensive lineman that only improves over the next two seasons and scouts are going to have plenty of chances to get a good look at him over the next years.
