The running back position is one of the deepest in terms of talent that the state of Arkansas has. Running back is always a deep position with Arkansas producing an excellent crop of running backs year in-year out. In today’s article we are going to take a look at several running backs that have the potential to have excellent fall seasons in 2021.

To say that Elsik had an excellent season in 2020 would be an understatement. Elsik rushed for 1,155 yards and 13 touchdowns on the season. He tacked on 232 receiving yards and three touchdown receptions. Elsik is a patient runner, and he has no problem allowing a rushing lane to develop. The versatility that Elsik has is what allows the Farmington coaching staff to design plays for him. Being able to line him up as a wide receiver too is what really stands out about Elsik and he has the potential to have a big season for the Cardinals.

One of the sleeper teams, that I have going into the 2021 season is the Cedarville Pirates. Over the course of his career, Kattich has put up extremely impressive numbers for the Pirates. He has rushed for 3,518 yard and has racked up 27 touchdowns during his career. A trait that sticks out for Kattich is that he is a decisive running back. Once he sees the hole, he explodes through the hole. The Cedarville coaching staff does an excellent job of getting Kattich involved in the passing game. In 2020, Kattich hauled in eight receptions for 133 yards and tacked on two touchdowns receiving. Kattich is a running back that I expect to have an excellent season and catch the eyes of scouts in the process.
[player_tooltip player_id="92902" first="Randon" last="Ray"]-Booneville
One thing you can always count on the Bearcats having is an excellent rushing attack. The multi-sport Ray does a terrific job of being patient and allowing the holes to develop when he runs the football. As a sophomore, Ray had already joined 1,000 rushing yard category and tacked on 16 touchdowns in the process. Ray plays the quarterback and the running back positions for Booneville, so it should come as no surprise that he is a versatile player. Booneville always has an impressive team, and this season should not be any different. Fans should look for Ray to have a big season for the Bearcats.
[player_tooltip player_id="75121" first="Zaire" last="Green"]-White Hall
[player_tooltip player_id="75121" first="Zaire" last="Green"] is the type of running back that makes football in Arkansas so much fun to watch. He does a great job of allowing his blockers to open up a rushing lane. During the 2020 season, Green was an extremely productive running back. Green rushed 1,867 yards and 20 touchdowns last season. What makes the number even more impressive is that Green averaged 6.7 yards per carry. White Hall has an explosive runner in the form of Green and it will be interesting to see what he does for encore this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="75077" first="Travelle" last="Anderson"]-Gosnell
Anderson is a player that has set the bar high for the 2021 season. Last season, Anderson rushed for 1,189 yards and five touchdowns. He has the potential to improve on those numbers this season. Anderson is a player that has terrific speed, and he is a nightmare to bring down in the open field. The Gosnell coaching staff does an impressive job in how they get the ball to Anderson. He has spent the offseason running track and staying in shape for football. The potential that Anderson has for a huge 2021 season is there. Gosnell should be a fun team to watch during the 2021 season.
