<span style="font-weight: 400;">As Colorado’s C-Season football participants prepare for week two of spring football, we want to use this time to take a look at some of the top performances of a few quarterbacks and their top receiving targets. </span>
<b>The Academy (1-0)</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The Wildcats won their season opener with 2023 quarterback </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="22786" first="Isaiah" last="Eliot"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> at the helm. Eliot completed 16 of his 23 passing attempts for 213 yards and two touchdowns. He also carried the ball 23 times for 61 yards. 2021 wide receiver </span><b>Gabriel Espinosa</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> was his team’s leading receiver, finishing the contest with eight receptions for 120 yards. The Wildcats will be taking on Denver West in a conference matchup on Friday.</span>
<b>Basalt (1-0)</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">2021 quarterback </span><b>Matty Gillis</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> was one completion shy of having a perfect passing game in last Saturday’s win. Gillis had six completions out of his seven attempts that went for 109 yards and three touchdowns. He also had five carries for 30 yards and one rushing touchdown. 2021 wide receiver </span><b>Ruble Alvarado</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> had four receptions for 84 yards and three touchdowns. The Longhorns will be looking to maintain their current course during their upcoming contest against Steamboat Springs this weekend. </span>

<strong>Denver South (1-0)</strong>
2021 quarterback, and CSU Pueblo commit, <strong>Julian Buerk </strong>put on a show during Saturday’s season opener. Buerk had 13 completions out of 23 attempts for 149 yards and three passing touchdowns. He also rushed seven times for 70 yards and three rushing touchdowns. 2023 wide receiver <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="242109" first="Rashad" last="Caldwell"]</strong> finished with three catches for 45 yards and two touchdowns. The Ravens will be taking on Far Northeast this Saturday to open up league play.
<b>Estes Park (0-1)</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">In a hard-fought contest against Flatirons Academy, the Bobcats took to the skies behind 2022 quarterback </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="153717" first="Collin" last="Reetz"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Reetz completed 37 of his 65 attempts for 381 yards and four touchdowns. 2021 wide receiver </span><b>Jd McCown</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> caught 18 passes for 259 yards and two touchdowns. McCown also had one rushing attempt that he took 82 yards to the house. The Bobcats fell short in the game by one point, but they will be looking to bounce back against Clear Creek this Friday. </span>
<b>Kennedy (1-0)</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">2021 quarterback </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="22749" first="Isaac" last="Sisneros"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> completed 13 of his 24 passing attempts and totaled 194 yards and one touchdown to help lead his team to victory. 2021 wide receiver </span><b>Michael Bueno</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> led the team in receptions (7) for a total of 95 yards. 2023 wide receiver </span><b>Antonio Massengile</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> had one catch that went 59 yards for a touchdown. The Commanders will be looking to add another win to their record as they take on George Washington this Friday.</span>

<span style="font-weight: 400;">2022 quarterback </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="153715" first="Andrew" last="Seest"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and the Lambkins put on a show during their win in their season opener. Seest had 17 completions on 24 attempts for 226 yards and four touchdowns. 2022 wide receiver </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="22709" first="Dorion" last="McGarity"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> was the recipient of four catches for 45 yards and two touchdowns. The Lambkins won their first game and will be heading into their week two matchup against Adams City on a high note.</span>
<b>Plateau Valley (0-1)</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">The season opener did not end in favor of the Cowboys, but 2022 quarterback </span><b>Tallen Long</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and his team put up a fight. Long finished with 12 completions on 23 attempts for 199 yards and two touchdowns. He had 15 carries for 146 yards and one rushing touchdown. 2022 wide receiver </span><b>Ceal Etcheverry </b><span style="font-weight: 400;">finished with eight receptions for 124 yards and two touchdowns. The Cowboys will be looking to get back on track as they take on John Mall in week two.</span>
<b>Sand Creek (1-0)</b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">2022 quarterback </span><b>[player_tooltip player_id="153714" first="Caleb" last="Kruse"]</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> helped to lead his team to a season-opening victory by completing 11 of his 20 passing attempts for 115 yards and two touchdowns. 2021 wide receiver </span><b>Greg Garnett</b><span style="font-weight: 400;"> finished the contest with seven receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns. The Scorpions will be looking to add to their win column when they take on Northfield this Friday.</span>
