This after taking a kick back 100 yards last week.
Luke Roberts RB/LB 21’ Mountain View- Not a lot of folks know about him playing out in Central Oregon but Roberts is a 6-2 200-pound workhorse, carrying the ball 20 times for 146 yards and 5 TDs, in the teams 55-27 comeback win over Aloha.
[player_tooltip player_id="28846" first="Cole" last="Prusia"] WR/DB 22’ Tualatin- The T-Wolves are loaded and Prusia is the real deal. He finished with 8 receptions for 169 yards and 3 Td’s in the teams 41-28 win over North Medford. When all is said and done he will be a multi offer D1 athlete.
AJ Pugliano TE/WR 24’ North Medford- Remember the name as Pugliano projects as a big time recruit out of Southern Oregon. The freshman phenom caught 7 passes for 121 yards against one of the state’s top teams in Tualatin.
[player_tooltip player_id="108135" first="Mikey" last="Gibson"] QB 22’ Canby- One of the region’s fastest rising recruits went off last week in the teams 48-0 win over Hillsboro, going 12-14 for 256 yards and 4 TDs. Gibson is a phenomenal overall athlete with comparisons to multiple former PAC 12 QBs (Kevin Riley, Sam Noyer). Both coached by Canby’s Jimmy Joyce.
[player_tooltip player_id="28839" first="Jordan" last="King"] WR/OLB 22’ Central Catholic- Just to reiterate King will be a double digit D1 offer athlete when all is said and done. He caught two more TDs in week 2, giving him (4) on the year, in CC’s 41-0 win over Sandy
[player_tooltip player_id="28775" first="Owen" last="Hawley"] WR 21’ Newberg- Not a lot of people know about Hawley but he is legit. The 6-3 2nd team all-conference returner accounted for 167 yards receiving and a TD in the teams 38-8 win over Liberty. This could be the best NHS team in some time.
[player_tooltip player_id="28854" first="Jackson" last="Jones"] QB 22’ Tualatin-The Tualatin Junior is one of the top QB’s in the NW for his class, and he put his talent on display last Friday breaking multiple records. On the night he finished 17-26 for 360 yards and 5 TDs.
Donald Stephens Jr. RB 23’ Grant- Potentially one of the best backs to come out of Oregon in some time. The Sophomore looked the part rushing for (2 TDs) in the teams 60-20 win over Roosevelt.
[player_tooltip player_id="28730" first="Sabastian" last="Peiffer"] RB/LB 21’ Gladstone- As mentioned numerous times Peiffer should be considered a 4A conference and state POY candidate. His 4 rushing TDs (two over 45+) helped the Gladiators beat North Marion 48-8.
[player_tooltip player_id="28884" first="Gavin" last="Knights"] ATH 22’ Thurston- Expect to hear a lot about this kid at the 5A level this Spring. His 130 yards rushing and 3 TDs were just a glimpse of what he can do in space, in the teams 43-6 win over Willamette.
Cooper Gobel QB 22’ Banks -The Braves continued their dominance at the 4A level, with Gobel passing for 354 yards and 5 TDs all in first half. Incredible numbers with Banks beating Valley Catholic 48-0.
[player_tooltip player_id="28724" first="Luke" last="Borchardt"] WR 21’ Grant- Give the Idaho Vandals credit for getting on this kid early. His 5 catches for 150 yards and 2 Td’s put him in the conversation among the state’s top WR’s. The Generals blasted Roosevelt 60-20.
DEFENSE
OVERALL MVP- [player_tooltip player_id="105482" first="Spencer" last="Kuffel"] Safety 21’ Tigard- From a recruiting standpoint he is potentially the biggest steal state wide for the 2021 class. Kuffel missed his entire junior season due to injury, after an all-conference TRL sophomore season. On Friday he put on a show with 3 INTs, including an 85-yard TD return to the house from his safety spot.
[player_tooltip player_id="28843" first="Malik" last="Ross"] ATH 22’ Tualatin- Both Ross and Prusia project as legit D1 athletes. Expect numerous colleges to be up in the mix and vying for their services. Malik picked off 2 more passes, after rushing 15 times for 152 yards and a TD, in the teams 41-28 win over North Medford
[player_tooltip player_id="28721" first="Jason" last="Davis"] LB 21’ Jefferson- This kid was everywhere in the Demos heart breaking loss to Barlow. Davis finished with 20 tackles (14 solo), 1 sack, and 3 tackles for loss as the Bruins scored with 13 seconds left to beat Jeff 26-18.
Drew Bennett WR/DB 22’ Westview - This kid is in the conversation for conference and state POY honors right now. He is having that type of season. Ryles Buckley CB 22’ Hood River- Not a lot of people were aware of Buckley including myself. That said as the underclass DB had a monster night with 3 INTs & a fumble recovery in the teams 22-0 win over Redmond.
[player_tooltip player_id="28776" first="Dane" last="Sipos"] Safety 21’ Lebanon- The Oregon walk on continues to impress. His 13 tackles and 2 tackles for loss were a highlight for a defense which had 38 points dropped on them in the loss to Dallas. Sipos also accounted for 2 offensive TDs (73,6).
